    9800 GX2 solutions?

Are there any air solutions for the new GX2 yet?

I had this idea ages ago. Thermalright says that the HR-03 Plus's will mount on a 9800GX2, so.

Sorry if I missed a few little details and that the picture isn't great.

Have yet to see anyone do that, but it may work. I was waiting for Thermalright to bring out something for mine, but I've sent it back for the step-up to the 280. Which WILL have a specific HR-03GTX made for it, in August

It is possible to use 2 x HR-03 Plus/GT (with a small modding in case of Plus) in order to cool the 9800GX2.

Check this link from thelab.gr. The site is in Greek but the images might be very helpful.
Note that the first picture describes the small holes that you should make in case that you have HR-03 Plus. However if you have HR-03 GT you don't need to do this.

Many thanks to LevelOne from thelab.gr

Woah, that GX2 looks so slick. Nvidia could have sold something like that with a 30% markup with ease. Looks like a spaceship or something

Hello guys, just dropped in to say a few words...
First of all, the memory IC's are no different from any other VGA. Using either aluminum, or copper heatsinks will provide enough cooling for them. In my case, i simply didn't have at the time two identical sets of heatsinks, so i went with what i had.
The one thing that needs to be taken seriously into consideration (and was by all means the hardest point of this project) is the VRM's... These can get very hot (~100C) and have to be efficiently cooled especially when you do all the Vmods. The problem with these,
is that they have such a small surface, and so little clearance, that installing normal RAM heatsinks is simply out of the question. They will simply not support even their own weight, so you might consider using other* mounting solutions. The whole procedure is 100% reversible provided you save all the little stock screws and a couple of photos to remember how it is mounted.

The results of this card were pretty good. With stock volts, the card benched at 830/1170 and with temps of around 50-55 @ full load. With the Vmods the card reached (as far as i can remember) 840/1190. I have a feeling though that the VRM's were responsible for this cut-out...

Bear in mind, that this is not a viable 24/7 solution, unless you don't mind having on your computer just your VGA. Not exactly spacious.

*I have yet to find out (glueing is one, but i look for something reversible)

    Hope you liked it, cheers!
