The not so official DFI LANPARTY DK X38-T2R thread!
Hello guy I just ordered this MB but didn't see any thread about it yet. I hope this can become the official DFI LANPARTY DK X38-T2R thread but for now you see what it is. I am hoping to have this MB here on Tuesday at the latest so for now this is it. Enjoy as I build and hopefully we make this thread jump.
If anyone has any links to some mods, or important info please feel free to post it here. Actually just tell me and I will add them to the first post. This will be a work in progress, but it is late and I stop here for now.

Prior to this post (which will bump this thread up) the official thread for this motherboard is directly below this thread. Guess you didn't look too hard... Link to thread

That's what I get for not reading. I blame it on having too many letters.

Anyway when I get this MB do you suppose this can become official? I am super eager to get this thing, I have no idea what to expect. I am having trouble finding information, and reviews on this MB. I'm hoping that I made the right choice selecting this one over the Foxconn X38A Digital Life MB. I chose it on a whim because I never had a DFI before and I wanted to try a new brand. I thought I heard something about this MB being low-end because it is the DK series... is that true?
I am in the process of building a first post worthy of being called official. I kinda feel like I am pioneering this MB lol.

Where did you order it from?
Edit: Nevermind, for ones Swedes are actually seeing a DFI pruduct turn up in stores. But the earliest any retailers seem to be getting them is in about 2 weeks =/

teh ut = lt, the dk is a different board it has 4 phase power and has no pci-e on the SB, and no jmicron sata but thats not a loss

i want to see how these compare to the p35 DFI LanParty LT P35-T2R, or similar board running both 65W and 45W dualies and quads
Quote:
DK series are using Intersil newer PWM IC which has support Intel SMbus interface to control Vcore voltage, it is 4 phase (16 MOSFET) pwm solution. Generally somebody called it is a Digital PWM as well, because it is control via SMbus.
But it still base on traditional PWM structure (PWM IC+MOSFET), its power tranfering efficiency is not higher as like Volterra solution( Digital control bus design without mosfet circuit)."
sauce

does anyone find the 4 phase a problem?
i want to a comparison between the DK and LT, p35 and x38, with the same quad cpu - which gets higher clocks?

anything after 475 fsb with 45nm on this board is a severe stuggle
65nm = set 500, set volts, save, done.
I know for a fact my 8400 does 530 fsb effortlessly in a p35-ds3r
DFI please fix the bios
using 3-19 bios, shipping bios wouldnt let me install drivers for my perc5 in windows

got this mobo and a Q6600 on the way.
Got it in and was running fine in vista 64. Follow DFI;s own directions for winflash upgrade BIOS.
Apparently winflash crashed 1/2 way and curropted the bios. Vista 64 does not play nice with winflash.
RMA is in process. Quite lame. Why can't mobo makers just have dual bios chips per mobo one with current bios and 1 with the origanal shipped bios as a backup

I got this board and i hit a wall at 438 fsb allready. The cpu runs primestable at 3504 mhz with only 1.28 vcore and lowish vtt and nb voltage but 440 is not possible even with 1.35vcore 1.375 vtt and 1.65v NB. 2mhz more on the fsb but it goes from primestable to 1 minute prime -> BSOD.
CPU is a xeon x3350 btw.

Anyone tried flashing this board with the DFI Lanparty DK x48 T2RS bios yet?
I know LT x38 to LT x48 works but does it also work for the DK series of these motherboards?

Well i allready flashed it with a newer version (for the DK x38 that is) np.
Flashing a bios is not rocket science after all.
I am asking if somebody allready tried simply because i am not gonna do a suicide run on this. If it is confirmed working i don't see a risk doing so though. People do worse things to their hardware then this so i am fully expecting someone will try or allready did so.

What's your voltages? I need 1.28 vtt and 1.495 on the northbridge for 438 FSB.
Edit: One more lead indicating one could flash the x48 bios: Last DK x38 bios is version 319. 1st and so far only DK x48 bios is version 320. Considering it is basically the same board it makes sense. Someone do it before i do it myself in a weak (drunk) moment.
