    Lightbulb Heatpipe orientation and temperatures

Interesting article based on the new Scythe Zipang cooler but what was really surprising was the page on the HSF orientation.

The results are somewhat shocking! The difference in orientation made for a difference of 9'C on the CPU.
Anyone else has similar findings on their rigs? 9C is quite a lot of difference to explain why.

well, it depends, I tried blowing upwards, but since my GFX card is rather warm its just cycling warm GFX card air which resulted in +5C extra temps.

I might try top down airflow and reversing my top mounted fans to become exhausts...
