Perhaps card not seated correctly, or bad PCI-E slot?

Wich bios you running ? I had F7 on mine and it went well with a 600 watt OCZ GameXtream PSU, no issues at all... almost beats my 8800GTX scores at 3dmark2006 with stock Q6600 speeds and stock card clocks for both... amasing card... hope you get it solved mate... tehy already got Bios F9 available

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Could also be a bad PCI-E power connector...

Have you tried the PSU of ya friend ? downgrade the bios to F7 to give it a shot...as it worked with the EVGA SC on the DS4 rev2.0 with Bios F7... The Gainward 8800GT worked fine on a P35DS3 ( see Antec 900 reviews log for proof ) I build so I wouldn't see why not on ya DS4... I only had an Asus AMD M2V mobo that wouldn't boot with it...

Only X38 are 2.0 and the 8800GT works fine normally on most mobo's...

You running the processor overclocked? Only thing I can think of because some p35s need pci/e set at 101/105/110 manually one of those to work right over 400fsb. Might manually set pci/e anyways and try it. ALLEN
