Buddy of mine walked up to the Fry's counter w/ 3 of the XFX in hand and got owned by the NDA. They were on the flippn' shelf too. Oh yes, $399.
i dont get it the 3870 is slower than the 2900 in your results denny?
on the tweaktown 8800gts g92 review from last week the 3870 beats the 2900 and the 8800gts g92 doesnt stick out that much compared to the 8800gt.
could it be the higher cpu speed?
did you notice that the g92 8800gts scales better with higher cpu clocks?
and the 3870... did you maybe use older drivers or was the 2900 a 1gb version or oced or something?
hmmmm
My max clocks so far with stock air, delta blowing into fan, 25C ambient.
Pretty sure this is my max for stock.
(My RAM speed is reported incorrectly in memset)
I didnt get any warning posting some pictures of GTSes two days ago

nice tim
wow its a runner
what is stock volts?
point me to the read points :P
from the 8800gt thread i know where to find vGPU read, but not vMem
edit: vGPU = 1.188V idle, ~1.237V loaded (ATItool)

Wow, those are nice specs.
I know with the volt mods a few people have been able to get the gt to around 2050 shader and 820+ core, but not memory.
Those memory scores are fantastic, they must use another model of ram for the gts cards.
Almost 18k on a single card, thats amazing, especially on air!
I'm only assuming that $299 is a pipedream at this point.
Right before christmas and the holidays, comes the new gts model, let the price gouging begin!!
Is it possible for you to run lightmark at the top specs like you mentioned?
Thanks!

Asus P6T, I7-920, 6gb ocz xmp, 4890, Raid 0-1 Terabyte, full watercooled - Triple Loop 5 radiators
Sorry no time for a non-scoring benchmark (hwbot).
vMEM = 2.029V idle
i'd say so.
Working on mods tonight
Thanks.
Yeah i can set to 100%, using nVidia Control Panel each bootup.
And also could only overclock after i "agreed" to the to the disclaimer in the control panel.
Temps made quite a difference to my overclockability and 100% fan speed saved me 5C+ on idle, and running the forced intake delta fan lowered my idle temps by a further 3C+.
its interesting, my Control Panel didnt let me manage it agree or not, the "dot" stays in "automatic fan control"
what version did you use? yep and wich driver?
my temps are now 60C idle and 70C load with a sunon fan next to the card, but its crap that the fan in the card almost stand...
QFT is "quoted for truth."
Thanks for the benchmarks, OP

3D06 20K
oooh 670 default GPU
despite how everyone criticizes this card, it's great.

single 8800gts beats 3850cf apparently
in games particularly with AA and AF turned on.
..yet another example of the irrelevance of 3d06. most ingame scores show single 8800gts in front, but 3850 cf is a close contender.
i'd suppose 3870 cf would be a clear winner tho.

Sick of 3d mark results, they mean nada. Want to see some game benchs!! Not too long neways.
If there is a 1024mb GT on it's way, then I'm sure a 1024mb GTS G92 is also on it's way.
1024mb on a 256bit membus = Crazy
