Single slot though so they have just used all the length of the card, and why not?

For lack of a better way to put it:
That's gonna confuse the crap out of consumers. Maybe call it 8800GTR or something....

hmm.. seems like they are giving more power to the GTS640, discontinuing the GTS320 and introducing the 8800GT to replace it.
i think this will make current GTS640 owners kinda ticked off.

Might I ask... WTF?
Hopefully someone can break this down, i.e. summarize.
Little too confusing for me right now with such little sleep.
Thermal-less? New cooling solution or a card with a waterblock on it?

AND they'll make the GTX obsolete in the process... Or at least make it unattractive to the average buyer... I highly doubt 16 SPs do that much of a difference, same with 128MBs of RAM...
But they'll probably handicap it in some other way (apart from the 320-bit mem controller)....
Best Regards

Wish my Asus P5W DH Deluxe would do SLI :p... rather have these than the 2950Pro's in Crossfire from what I hear about current-gen dual-card performance, but oh well .

Damn the cooler is sexy, much better than those puny 7900GT/GS cooler. Perhaps now NVIDIA has more budget on the design team . Now should I get one of these to replace my 7950GX2 or wait for the 8950GX2 >_>.

If that "rumored" 65nm and shader amount is true this might be my next card but 2950 Pro seems like a must see first. Wish they would be released already, getting impatient and rig needs a GPU update but I wanna wait for a card that is worthy replacement for the last gen's price/performance king 7900GTO and 8800GT or 2950 Pro looks like they are nice contenders.
Hopefully the stock fan won't be too loud as single slot solutions usually are since the cooler looks pretty nice. Fud's claim about 110W would be quite impressive if it turned out to be true, at 65nm it could be possible though and it kinda speaks for a nice overclockability.

if your referring to the chart showned above then it doesn't say anything about a 8800GT. second row, 'Chip' says they are all 8800GTSs. but if you have another chart that isn't shown, please due share .
