AMD might be 40% up in performance but then Intel counter the only way they can by massive price drop.

All good for the consumer, either you go high and pay but get massive performance, or else you pay a pretty small amount and get pretty good performance.

If these numbers are true.

Q6600 for 266$? Wow.

Last time we heard it was rumored:

Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.40 GHz/4MB L2 x 2/1066MHz FSB), which has been launched on Jan 7, is planned to be cut from $851 to $530, a 37.7% off

(from the same site).

And now the Q6700 is rumored to be at this price. I hope they didn't made a glitch

Quad-Core for the masses .. I like.

I know for you hardware-freaks,who spend all their money at hardware,2007 is a wet dream come true...But for us"casuals"it's getting pretty confusing...I already been looking for a new rig for more than 8 months now,and still i'm not sure what to get,due to the massive amount of rumors and stuff

well if you look at the price per K for the initial C2D release, it was pretty close on the USD side.
