out of interest, is there adequate space on that mobo to mount it the other way around?

The HR-03 (without fan) wont clear the chipset (with fan).. If you move the chipset-fan to the other side, then it'll fit. But you'd still have to mount the fan on the HR-03.
And the mounting of the fan will be offset by ~3/4"..

It clears the ram, due to space between mobo and HS..

Actually looks like the fan makes it a 5 slot.

J-Mag, hehe.. the pic is a bit tricky.
Between soundcard and fan, there's a PCIE slot. That PCIE-slot is actually usable :-) But then the fan will only have 0.4cm clearence, so it'll prolly choke.

Well the original pics angle was what threw me off...

We can say this solution is technically 4 slot, but effectively 5 slot.

    How about that?

Looks like Thermalright should have just designed that cooler to fit tightly to the card. I can't imagine it could ever fit the other way on the card. The way that is you have this huge open area and almost no slots!

It looks good. It seems like there is an unusual amount of space between the cooler and the card.

Do you know if it can be mounted backwards like other heatsinks Thermalright offers? I seriously doubt it, but that would be nice.

hey illuminati, i got the same lian li style case you have but I have the add on side fan bracket exhausting the hot air (plus2 versions)

is there enough clearance? to fit? most likely not right? The pipes seem to go over the card dramatically

Aldy, I can check it.. Do you have a V2100B Plus II as well?
If I recall correctly, the add-in fan can be moved around quite a bit.. Without having checked, i'd say if the fan is close to the vent, then no problemo..

Hicks, I havent really checked oc yet.. Before i'd get artifacts @ 635 after a couple of minutes (atitool).. I only tried 640mhz with the new cooler and had no artifacts.. I had to leave so I didnt test above 640.. ( @work now )

if you have a tape measure handy, would you mind measuring exactly how much it protrudes out? that would help me greatly

    ~3.7cm from the gfx-card..

I havent been using the side-exhaust.. The rear-fan circulates the air coming from side-hole, pulling out warm air from gfx. And I think my temps are fine
My cpu's dual-radiator is located over my psu in the bottomhalf of the cabinet...

    EDIT:

Hicks, 650mhz core, artifact-free now So that atleast 15mhz..
