    EVGA 680 OC Probs

    Hi

    before i got this board i had a P5B-Deluxe running my E6600 @ 3.6Ghz Othos stable (1.46 actual vcore 1.52 set in bios)

    now i got my 680i my E6600 fails Orthos in seconds at the same settings
    (1.45 acutal vcore)

    my ram is Corsair XM2 2GB C4 runing at 800Mhz 4-4-4-12 2T 2.1v memtest stable

    It's a totally different board. You can't just use the same settings. You have to effectively start over and find the stable spots. There already many posts on this chipset. I would start there.

    have you tried the new bios?
    my overclock is much better with the new bios...what slots are your mems in?

    yes flashed it as soon as i installed it

    im using the blue slots

    hmmm....what are some of your bios settings?
    ...i am sure you have done the usuall things ie..raising vcore, and/or vdimm

    i think i know the problem

    i might need to reseat my HS cause in TAT the moment the cpu reaches 85c orthos fails

    plus how stable was the vcore on Asus.........if you compared the two with a DMM it would be handy

    btw i didnt just slap the cpu in and went straight to 400x9

    tested it at 333x9 366x9 etc and tried many different mem configs and ive been reading that thread since the board came out
