scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page. Looks like a pretty easy mod to eliminate vdroop. There are other voltage and ink mods listed as well. You can buy conductive ink at radio shack. This type of mod is stupidly easy.. I did an ink mod on my geforce 7900 gt to raise the voltage to 1.5 volts.
"Directly short out the resistor circled below, with a conductive pen or a tiny blob of solder. Before the mod, I would get about about a 0.05v droop under load, but after the mod, the CPU voltage remained stable throughout."

OK, I played around with this mod, but I think my results are meaningless. I modded the motherboard, but then I couldn't get my overclock stable with any voltage. Late last night, I removed the mod and my old overclock wasn't stable either. THen I noticed that the PCI-E speed had reverted to Auto on me. It has to be 100 for my setup. Now my old overclock (with the dip) is stable again.
So basically, this mod may or may not improve an overclock but I don't feel like reapplying to see. I just can't see where 3150 MHz is going to be slow in anything I do.
I found my board to be unstable with the mod, and I removed it as well.
It wouldn't post at 400mhz at the same voltage it would at least post at before, although it did fix the vdroop when I tested it at 350 mhz. Perhaps I'll try it again eventually, perhaps not.
Lapping the CPU IHS has been the best mod I've done so far.
Right now prime stable at 400x8 (3.2 ghz) gonna take it higher now. As long as the volts aren't above 1.5 volts and the temp is stable, there's really no reason to do it.

What do you mean by "successful." Without a doubt this mod prevents the drooping. Whether it helps overclocking or not is debatable, but the mod definitely works and takes 30 seconds to do.
i havent done the mod yet but odly enough,,, i get a 0.02v increase in vcore under load.
wierd huh!. that is reading on the pwm leg and also on the empty cap slot... they both show the same thing.
one leg of the pwm shows 4.10v and the other leg shows 1.34v where as idle is 4.08 and 1.32v

i also believe raising the 3.3 and 5v rails on the psu is also increasing the vcore and vdimm. i need to double check though. but my vdimm when i set 2.2v is actually reading 2.27v . so thats quite a bit higher than it should be.

i too have found the board to be less stable after the vdroop mod. Too bad i used solder, and completely incinerated the resistor that was there. I think the limitations of the board lie somewhere in its design. Before, i was able to get a higher overclock, but it was not always stable. Like i could do 1 core @ 3680mhz, but as soon as i wanted to dual prime, it would crash. My current 3328mhz is the same stable overclock that i got before the mod. Plus i dont like the temps when trying to overclock past 3328mhz, since i want my radiator fans @ 5v for silence.
I say this board is just for an easy 50% overclock, that pretty much anyone with an e6300/e6400 can do, but for this forum, i dont think its going to cut it.

i did it with a conductive pen and even though you have ABSOLUTELY ZERO droop. the board becomes VERY unstable if your overclocking.
i truly dont believe that the conductive pen can handle much more than default vcore for its resistance.
so.. if your overclocking with ONLY defualt vcore it probably is going to be ok.
also, i dont knwo why this happened, but IMMEDIATELY after doing this mod, the Coil packs on my motherboard, specifivally around the PWM are starting squeeling VERY badly.
i dont know why,. i dont know enough about electricity, but it happened and right after removing the conductive ink with Acetone and a Q-Tip the squeeling stopped, and the droop came back
the PWM area also became a helluva lot warmer than it was..
so.. not sure exactly what it happeneing but i truly dont believe that it is the proper voltage droop location. there must be a different correct location.

People have been doing vDroop mods for years now... when are mobo manufacturers going to take the hint? I don't mind the uncertainty of overclocking and doing hardware mods is lots of fun, but this one looks more like a stab in the dark and less like a solution that was come to by logic.
I'll wait for a more established/safer/complete vdroop mod. What's Hipro5 been up to, anyway? Messing with Gigabyte P965 boards, I hope
