    Exactly!

I don't know why people would believe that (unless they had an ulterior motive wanting the chips to do poorly).

We had dozens of Stepping 5 ES processors in the hands of some of the most talented overclockers in the world producing some awesome results, and then there were _two_ examples of folks (one of whom was using stock cooling and frankly wasn't a hardcore overclocker) who had a bad experience with Stepping 6, and it was doom and gloom for many posters.

Now here we are literally the day after launch and we are seeing great results from stepping 6, and I promise this is only the beginning.

A couple examples of 4GHz on stock and other air cooling, 4.3GHz on water and 4.7GHz on Promedia... the day after launch. Just wait until the big players start reporting their efforts...

    Cheers!

EDIT: lol, as seen below, a sub 10s SuperPi_1M @ 5.16Ghz by Kaz and his LN2 courtesy of Step 6 Retail Core 2 x6800...

Anyone has both step5 and step 6 to make clock for clock comparo. Maybe we see an improvement in speeds similar with Yonah step 4 to step 8...
