DFI Infinity 975X/G - VMCH & VFSB mods

Use PC Health menu to monitor the voltage.
The reading reported by the PC Health menu fully agrees with my Fluke dmm.

    The picture says it all.

    Have fun

    if I recall...

about 1.6 volts is the limit on the VFSB before you seriously just blow up the chip?

2 volts for VMCH is about the limit there too?

been along time since I did these mods on a board (last board was the Abit AS8)

Thanks, this will help alot when I get my motherboard up and running. Just one question, where is the best place to ground? Is it ok to connect to a groundpin on the backside atx-connector?

edit: Also, it's kinda hard to find a 40k vr-pot so would it be ok with a 50kOhm one? Or just typo?

Everyday you need a 40k vrpot, a 50k pot will do as well Just a little less fine tunning...

The best place to ground is whatever you want, there are hundred ground points in the mobo, you can choose what you want, what's easier to solder, which is near the vmod... doesnt matter

Another option (given it's no typo) would be to just use 2x 20K potis, connected in series, to give you a total resistance of 40K.

Yea, but some more soldering work and you have to tune the pots alot before something happens.

    Anyways, thanks for the answers.

You can pencil mod the nb voltage too, I already have 1.95 going through mine. Sorry I'm a bit new to the terms here.
So what does the Vfsb adjust then?

    wheres the droop mods?

seems like no ones posting those anymore for these new boards, but they need it pretty badly...

I used the VFSB mod today, and set to 1.53v, nb is @ 1.95 (pencil mod), still no real progress, will now boot up a 380fsb, with E6600 Stepping 5 @ 1.4v. Even using 1.5 vcore will not allow any more fsb. I think the limit here is that I'm running 1900's in Crossfire and also Raid 0. This cpu is known to hit 3.85.

Has anyone else had good results??

    hi raju
i also have 1900xt crossfire and raid 0 on 2 raptors, mine runs flawlessly at 400fsb with same processor as yours, the only difference is i have watercooling on the northbridge, if you let us know your bios settings re volts and ram i'll compare them to mine for you and let you know any different settings

nb is @ 1.95 with air cooling, vtt 1.53. I can set vcore from 1.4 all the way to 1.6, will not post over 380 fsb. Ram timings are manually set, and well within ram speed.

    C1E function is disabled (speedstep)

Are there any other options you have disabled/enabled?

What is your nb voltage and temp with watercooling -perhaps that's where the difference lies..

    regards

hiraju the nb is at 1.75 and never goes over 42 degrees, also the other voltage is at 1.35 cpu at 1.275 plus .2125, i have c1e enabled and also have ppm enabled whatever that is in the genie bios settings, i do have my ram at 2.35 volts as well, on a side note dfi have pulled the 0707 bios off the beta bios page now so maybe an update is on the way

Can someone please show us a vdroop mod for the vcore on this board? It may help with overclocking a little further...
