    Dry ice & s754 - Sempron64 3000+ & 3100+, A64 3200+ ClawHammer

Yesterday, my friend Spd and I went on a dry ice overclocking session. We used the following hardware:

    - DFI NF3 250GB
    - 512MB 2.5-3-3-7 crappy Twinmos
    - ATI Rage2 2MB PCI video card
    - Seasonic S12 600W Rev2
    - WD Caviar 120GB 7200rpm IDE

    - Sempron64 3000+

    - Sempron64 3100+

    - old A64 3200+ ClawHammer, 1MB cache

    15kg of dry ice!

Insulating the good old DFI with liquid electric tape

    Preparing the system

To be honest, the insulation wasn't good at all. Although, the liquid electric tape saved us from some serious trouble..

Our first container mount was very poor and the results soon appeared..

On the next try, things were much better

Two pics of the system running:

As you can see, we couldn't forget active cooling for chipset and mosfets.

    Yeah!

Now, this is what we managed to get..
    - 3200+ Claw: 2854.15MHz
This C0 revision is quite old, can't even run at 2T.. anyway, this is a WR!

    - 3100+ Sempron: 3195.79MHz
We reached 3213MHz, but the system was highly unstable and the validation file didn't survive.. even by a small margin, this is also a WR!

    - 3000+ Sempron: 3264.48MHz
Our validation file at 3286MHz got corrupted, we were very very close to 3300MHz.. maybe next time, but this is another WR!

Sorry for those who were looking for some Pi/3D action, but this was our first DI run and we were not aiming for that kind of action. Maybe next time, some fun with Mushkin Redline UTT and X800Pro..

    Finally, big thanks to Ratax!

EDIT: as requested, some container pics:

Congrats! Nothing like taking out a couple of WRs on your first DI trial.

I agree, we need some container shots.

Very nice results I'm currently playing with a Sempron 64 but have some trouble if you could answer a question it would help a lot.Did you have coil noise with that setup?I have a big coil noise at the coil from the middle and I don't know why.Congrats again!

AsAsIn8eR, we never heard any coil noise, even when vcore was around 1.95-2.0V on the Claw. We've been using this board for more than an year and it still runs flawlessly.. have you tested with another cpu? That noise should be frustrating
Anyway, good luck with your 2800+!

@oicurafox2000: thank you. I can't remember the exact values, but they were around 1.73-1.75V for the 3100+ (more won't help at all) and approximately 1.84V for the 3000+, this one was reacting incredibly to voltage and I believe it can reach even more..

@Tuvok-LuR-: I don't know if I understood correcty, but do you want to see pictures of the acetone with dry ice? I don't have anyone.. just a small 15sec video of my friend filling the container with ice..

@ _zzzkuba: The Clawhammer didn't have any cold bug. However, both semprons bugged around -35.

Just as a side note, the Sempron 3100+ died , when removing it from the socket we bent too many pins, I've tried to put them back into place, but couldn't.

This is my first post here @ XS !

HAHAHAHH Spd... very subtle pic you got there.

    So 3.9GHz E6600 on air...
I have a Zalman CNPS9500. This good enough to get that high?
