Thumbs up A very simple and Perfect Solution to using Waterblocks on the NB of a P4 Board

loooking over bladerunners website (the master of watercooling ) I came across this picture, that simply blew me away for it's simplicity and effectiveness for using waterblocks on the northbridge of a P4 Chipset with them little hook things...

soooo I promptly emaild Bladerunner to ask for his permission to post this Pic elsewhere, in which he gladly obliged and gave me the green light to post his work here on this post.
(thanks blade)

I am definatly redoing my solution, as mine was alittle more difficult to use for the sheer size of my solution.
I love this idea so much, I just had to post it here, and hopefully other watercooling guys can appreciate this solution as much as I did

you just find a solid small piece of metal and a bolt and nut.
the rest is pretty simple

That one looks like a mounting plate from an add-in card ? Old NIC, ISA sound card, etc. should do the job.

I've come up with a few nice working solutions too.

A screw, aluminum rod and brass rod cut and bent to shape.

2 aluminum bars and screws and nuts and a spring for centralized pressure.

The second method doesn't work on the P4P800 due to the postion of a cap so I used brass rod extensions.

Anyways Kunaak, I read your thread over at overclockers.com, what happened to that vapo on your NB
I also went over to Intel recently and am chilling my NB with a 172 watt peltier cooled with -36c liquid. Seems we are always up to the same mischief, first the dry ice and now the NB cooling

My vapo on the NB is just a short term solution for high OC sessions. day to day use is just plain old watercooling, to ease my Power bills and save on space.
my full benchmarking set up is pretty insane.
the R404 vapochill goes on the videocard, my waterchiller does -35C, that cools the NB, with a Prometeia on the CPU.

but my day to day is alot smaller, just watercooled videocard and NG, with a prometeia.
nothing fancy, but it's nice on my wallet, and maintains high OC's well, been running 3.6 ghz for a week now.
I was running 3.7 ghz before, then I started to find, I was crashing out of games too much.
3.6 seems to be the sweet spot for 1.575 volts.

heres my NB cooling solution that I came up with.
but I definatly like Blades better.

I have about 15L of ethanol, 2L of antifreeze, and about 12L of water in there.

Danger Den announced yesterday, (8/4), a new NB water block for some 875p/865p mobos. Pictures on the DD site. Very much like Kunaak's soulution, but integrated into the block.
