    Nvidia GTX280/260 and 9800GTX/+ 177.39 Beta Driver with PhysX-Support

    GTX280/260 9800GTX/+ Beta 177.39 Driver with PhysX-Support

Today, NVIDIA officially launched GPU acceleration for PhysX when they released the PhysX driver version 8.06.12 which enables PhysX acceleration for the following cards :
    GeForce GTX 280
    GeForce GTX 260
    GeForce 9800 GTX+
    GeForce 9800 GTX

You will need to install the latest 177.39 ForceWare driver in addition to the PhysX driver. At this moment, PhysX support has only been enabled for those four GPUs. NVIDIA will progressively enable PhysX support in the other GeForce 9 and GeForce 8 graphics over the next few weeks.

If a modded inf will get PhysX working on an 8800GT, I will be impressed.

Considering the difference between the 9800GTX and the 8800GTS 512 this is a poor show considering they arent in the same driver set

what the hell? doesn't a quad core rape a physx card at pretty much anything? I remember watching a vid of the UE3 running the "tornado" with both and the quad core test was way better.

from what i have read they will be enabling support on the rest of the 98XX's and 8800's with new drivers releases in the coming weeks. this is really good news. i get all of the bonuses of PhysX without an add in card AND now that millions more people can use it that means more games will support it. man Nvidia is really pressing on with using the GPU for things other than gaming. it's good to see.

Since I'm usually at high res and using up all the fps a card can give, I'm kind of concerned that spending gpu cycles doing physics is going to hurt my fps

meh, i think this isn't worthy, a guy already downloaded them, mirrored and he said original file was corrupt (at least for vista x64)

Has anyone managed yet do download and install these? smells like a fake to me

    I mean, 10kbs and ETA 1:31 is a PITA...

Could be I guess, don't think they're fake though. They're on the sites news page.

    40000 CPU SCORE????

What operating system are you using, btw? You could have done stock clocks GTX280

I couldn't even extract the driver files, the original file was corrupt, so I apologize for suspecting this was fake.

I am using windows vista x64

    I noticed that

Damn it, the damn vistax64 exe file is corrupt, I am

Anyway, the performance between a single 8800GT and a GTX280 is HUGE.

My 8800GT stock clocks (600/1500/1800) P scores are: P5413, GPU4848 CPU 8324 (cpu score a bit higher than yours, see sig )

Bad luck vista 64 installer is corrupt, I will love to see my score increase

    Thanks for the tests man
