I do not know if it includes the modifications of 0096 (and other 00xx)...

according to some, the 1102 bios requires less voltage than the 1005
I thought I see the opposite here...
    Sorry for my english

QPI PLL is linked to the CPU PLL setting in BIOS on the R3E.

I asked how it was controlled to ASUS techsupport and that's the answer I got.

I've asked them for a table of values showing what QPI PLL voltage is set per different CPU PLL settings.

It seems 1.89v CPU PLL is probably between 1.14 and 1.16v QPI PLL. Raising my CPU PLL to this value gives me about the same stability/voltage settings that I got on my friend's x58a-ud3r with my chip.
Can we can measure the the QPI PLL at different CPU PLL and make this table alone since Asus don't want to "share" it ?

If someone knows where to measure, I can do it. I do not know where the contact is though!

wow look @ this.. before the pll debate i never touched cpu pll.. always @ stock 1.81.. i could not boot above 215.. i lowered cpu pll to 1.55 and look now i can boot up to bclk 221

If we could get more info regarding QPI PLL.. one can imagine

    Hi,guys ,

managed to get into the "4.5GHz Linx STable Club " over at XS but what worries me is the
inconsistent performance of this MB .

    I got 2 R3E and both maxed up at 222BCLK W/O and 231-232 BCLK w the slowmode .
Tried 3 different CPUS on them , two kits of memory . Moreover, I have observed
the poor 3D performance around 220BCLK at Vantage as reported by Leeghoofd.

All those betas/alfas do not make it better, of course, as its HW /ICH related .
I deem this MB as overrated one for sure .

But well.. what can we expect these days- its just buy and sell, buy and sell as quickly as possible

^I lost performance at 215bclk (as everyone is probably tired of hearing, but idc ). If someone could figure this issue out I would gladly go back to using the board because it has such a good layout.

the problem i am facing is no matter what values i enter high or low the pc wont boot, i cant even get my cpu and board overclock to 4.0Ghz which is something was easy to do with my previous i7 930 and asus p6x58d premium, now since i got the asus R3E and the i7 980x i can even run anything other than the stock speed, my temp for the cput is 27c idel and i am using very good WC system !!

the issue exactlly is. after entering the values i get blank screen ( PC doesnt post ) .. even if i dont overclock the cpu and only try the RAM at it is rated freqency it doesnt post, please give me some feed back and help i will appreciate that alot

Some 980X don't like high uncore, high QPI voltages... what settings are you trying to run ? which bios ?

I'm still on 0704, have't had time to test all this stuff out. Thing is I mentioned it too in the review, that the biosses get mixed up by the end user. A bios for a bencher is not the same as one for a daily cruncher... Asus should make it clear which bios serves which purpose (like in the DFI days)
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

[QUOTE=Leeghoofd;4633519]Some 980X don't like high uncore, high QPI voltages... what settings are you trying to run ? which bios ?

i used both 105 and the latest 1102 ? i tried several settings

    20x200 / vcore 1.28v / qpi 130 to 135v / DRAM Bus 1.64v - to 16525v / Ram freq i tried 1450, 1550, 1600 all didnt work ... LLC enabled and disabled didnt work

i also tried different multipliers by BCLK to get the 4.0Ghz it didnt work !!

should i restore the original BIOS ? (9xx)

i just dont understand i was easily and comfortably moving from stock to 3.8Ghz ti 4.0Ghz to 4.2Ghz with my previous build !!

I don't have another tool and I don't even know of one actually.
It only happens to me when I make changes using Turbo-V and save the changes. What I have found is that Turbo-V gives me wrong DRAM Ref voltages and so when I apply settings, Turbo-V applies the wrong DRAM Ref voltages. The only way I can get the DRAM Ref voltages right is by adjusting them in the bios and not changing any settings using Turbo-V. It doesn't happen to me every time though, its a bit random.

QPI is too low for high BCLK. try 1.4-1.45.
Also turn on QPI LLC via jumper next to ATX24 pin connector.

load line calibration, it "stabilizes" your qpi voltage droop

I am little curious more than anything else but have there been a couple of reversions of this board yet? If so, what have been the changes?

Hey guys, been running prime95 for 6 hours with these settings, guess i am gonna keep it for my 24/7 ... next weekend gonna try to push the RAM further hopefully without upping the voltage much.
