**Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 OC-Tips-Bios-Discussion Thread**

The new Gigabyte i7 X58A UD7 SATA 3.0/USB 3.0 needs a Settings, Tips and Tricks thread. I dont have any tips and tricks yet, still trying to get this board to act right. Hopefully with everybodys input, this will be the board to have. I'll be updating with a bios template as soon as i find something that works. Here is a blank template for everyone to use for posting bios settings. I think i have everything thats important on the template. Please feel free to add any lines you think are needed. Also Statsio and Andre Deluxe... Please post new bios updates here.. Thank You!........ Let the clocking begin!

Have any of you guys put blocks on this yet instead of the stock heat pipe assembly?

Some other bits and bobs about this model and the P55 UD6
http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/12/...a3-333-series/

I am thinking i might grab one of these next week.

Where are the OC screens?

I have been having high hopes for this MB, Common lets see some action here. LOL, i know you are working on it, but lets see some shots, soon.

Any of you guys are getting higher BCLK on this MB for stable 24/7 (with the same CPU + RAM)?

Does this board have more memory timing options? or r u guys just listing the basics for the sake of the size of your posts? as that bios seem rather "simple" maybe im just used to lots of options from my old DFI NF4 board

Just listing the basics timings. It is full featured when it comes to timings. U can actually have different timings for each of the three channels.

Quick test run with my W3520 Air cooled using a TRUE 120 Extreme Rev C.

Temps seem high, might need to look into RealTemp's calibration.

We working on it

So far I was able to get 5+ (from 215 to 220) BCLK with this Mobo than with ASUS P6T7 WS. I know, 220 is not that high but BCLK is more CPU bound than MB.

So far I was able to get 5+ (from 215 to 220) BCLK with this Mobo than with ASUS P6T7 WS. I know, 220 is not that high but BCLK is more CPU bound than MB.
No, its not.

We want to see it get past the 222BCLK wall. Lower your multi down to 17x, up your VTT, and Vcore a bit, lower your ram multi, set PCIe to 105-110 and see how high you can get.

Nugz, are you running your Titans on the new Sata3 controller in raid 0? I am thinking about picking up this board tonight and was wondering if the SSD raid 0 performance was improved over the Sata2 interface.

Exactly. My board will be here monday and if I am stuck @ 222 I am going to be rather depressed.

222bclk seemed to be the average high/limit for the ud4/ud5/extreme boards

It was discussed in the other UD7 thread that these are fixed and GB hard modded the 222blk from the factory/

Sup Hunter. Glad you asked that. Everest read test suite is less than half the speed i get with every other controller. Switching them now and ill report back in a few after windows is re-installed. That sucks. Another thing that sucks is 1 out if 4 or 5 failed oC's, the bios gets fooked or something. U cant just revert back to previous working and stable settings, wont even post if you try. i was pulling my hair out, could only POST at default settings. Tried installing different bios too, still wouldnt work. Let me also say this occured only with 12gb of ram installed. 6GB i didnt have that issue at all. I was gonna pull the board but thought i'd try what Andre Deluxe suggested....

9: set v-qpi to 1.34v
10: set v-dram to 1.64v
11: enable load line calibration

After doing this, i can then start to OC again. I had a similar problem with 1 other board. MSI P7N Diamond.

Just some quick tests. 230 is max for 100% stability at 19mp, 226-7 at 20mp. Can bench up to atleast 236 with 21mp.

I'm sure someone else will do better, but thought I post this since someone asked.

The BCLK-wall dependents on the CPU-batch# and MB (+ RAM too for x10 RAM).
Most current setups are stuck at BCLK222 (with x21 Multi) for 24/7, but this may change with a golden-batch or new 32nm CPUs (or a probable upcoming E0-stepping?) on a new MB, including this one.

I would like to see one these 32nm 6C/12T on this MB. I guess/hope it can do ~@4.83GHZ(230x21) with 24/7 stability. Anybody got the combo?

EDIT:
This was like WOW... Sniper posted a BCLK230 while i was typing this.
EDIT2:
I would like to see it with x21 multi, but i guess you need a 32nm CPU for that.
BCLK230 is great, even with x19, on current CPUs. Good job Sniper
