I bin PSC per IC at Home !!

I am using DDR3-2400 CL8-11-7-27 1T tcwl 6 for binning rules .... of course I use 1.5v vDIMM only!!


I only do it when my wife slept !! Dual Channel is much faster !!


Red is not pass , green is pass !! so I will know which chip is good enough for my battlefield !!

It will be 8 layers 2oz PCB !! Codename : "Splave Series" !!

the combination of software + hardware lets one bin per IC. Each IC is removed and re-balled, then re-inserted into the test setup and binned.

There is still a software component. I assumed that it wouldnt require an OS, mabye a boot disk/usb but probably boots from hardware (which contains the software.)

600IC is roughly 37 double sided sticks isnt it? are you sure thats enough? (no sarcasim intended) if only 1 IC are passing with tight bin rules out of 8, with 16 required, that makes a total of 2 good sticks out of 600 IC with 2 IC or so left over. TBH, the cost on this compared to binning MFR per IC is MUCH cheaper. About $1000 in memory to remove and reball before you can sort the ICs.

600 IC is binned passed 1.65v twcl 7 and I am going for second bin for DDR3-2500 twcl 6

May be it call "Firmware".... but anyway... Hardware cannot alive without software.

Are they actually balling the IC's? My guess would be that the jig allows them to mount the IC's securely without actually flowing any solder.
