Do these settings work on the P5N-E SLI PLUS? or do I use the settings from the Asus P5N32-E & Striker Extreme with GSKILL memory setup insturctions thread?

I just ordered some of NQ ram, ill try these setting for sure. Also how much of a difference does 2T and 1T make on DDr2?

for those 3 mobos setup is about the same.
the only difference is voltage. use either one should be ok

1T is better than 2T but require more voltage tho

Hello GS, thank you very much for this very informative info in this thread.

I've been running HZ stable at 800Mhz with your info above (2.08V 4-4-4-12-2T-1-2-2-6-1-27-2) and now I wanted to OC my E6400 system to 450x8. With Linked, the RAM will be 900Mhz --please let me know what would be the best memory settings for 900Mhz.

1T is better than 2T but require more voltage tho
Other than upping the voltage, do we need to change the other settings as well?

Also, is there any difference between the green and black PCB? I got 2x1GB green and another set with black pcb.

green / black are the same
overclock to 900 you can use the timing i suggest.

    HI all

G.S Technician I have the NQ Series, and I tried the values you posted but still the system isn't stable, it only takes a few seconds for the system to halt when loading windows.
Those timings helped (before I couldn't even go to the bios) but they still don't work.

I think the problem might be in the northbridge voltage so witch voltage did you use?

I think the problem might be in there but I honestly don't know

    please help

I am going crazy with this

    Hi,

I'm planning to buy the p5n-E with some g.skill ddr2 800 memory (4x1gb), but am having trouble deciding which model. I'm not a fan of OC'ing the memory. So I'll leave it at DDR2 800 speed, but I will be OC'ing my core 2 duo e6420 to 3.5ghz+ with water cooling.

Would it be ok to use some of the cheaper models (e.g. PQ, NQ, PK)? Or will the cheaper models hinder/restrict the amount of OC i can get from my CPU?

How much more should I increase the memory voltage to get 1T timings on the PK model? 2.3v?

I know there's no such thing as really "safe" when it comes to increasing voltage on a memory, but what's the "safest" amount I can push the voltage on memory that you would recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

increase the voltage, change to other slot, increase the voltage of NB, better cooling for NB
    those are my suggestion

please don't use 4 dimm on 680/650i, many problems appear. it is about 50/50 chance to make it works 4 dimm

How would you suggest I get 4 gigs of ram set up with the p5n-e? Which memory modules?

would the NQ series (2x1gb) be fine when I'm trying to overclock only my CPU (no ram OC, just going to keep it at ddr2 800)? I'll be pushing the FSB to about 450 or higher if possible.

I'm going to be watercooling everything. North bridge, south bridge, cpu. So I want to push the board to its limits, but I don't want the memory to be holding me back.

i am not sure what you mean
using 4 sticks NQ on P5N-E and overclock?
    or
2 sticks NQ on P5N-E overclock?

watercooling on NB that is really idea

NQ might do ~900, 950 on P5N-E but YMMV

I have done all that, even replaced the northbridg chipset with a Noctua NC-U6

tried the latest BIOS 0604 nothing solved.

can you at lest tell me which are the best timings for this memories in 667 mode?

    currently using this ones:

and by the way which program do you recommend to test the memories? I dont like memtest and I think orthos or prime are ineffective sinse I can run a test for over 10 hours and still get random BSOD

    Gs that timings are great.
I have a P5N-e sli, with some gskill hk, and they wok just fine.
Although i tried to push them above the 800mhz, increasing the voltage, but it doesn´t go. My processor is a 805 at 3,5ghz, and i think it is something about the fsb:dram. not it is 7:16.
The max that i can do is a miserable 840mhz
    What do you think?

Thank you for post that timings.

    G.S. Tech,

    what overclocks can i expect from 2Gb G.Skill DDR2 PC2-6400 PK Series 4-4-4-12?

could 450 be hit with a voltage increase whilst at 4-4-4-12 or would i need to slacken the timings?
