05 is good, but I think 06 is weak considering your using a Quad. Are there any volt mods for these yet? I think I'm going to pick one up to replace my X1800GTO (16 pipes enabled).

How in the hell can you attribute that score to his CPU? His quad scored 5400 some points alone; the weakness lies within the card itself. But still, what were you expecting from a midrange card? I think it fares pretty well.

new generation midrange cards should always best old gen high end cards... so why is this struggling to beat even midrange old gen??
Bad card IMO (that is not to say that the 8600 is any better.. both are bad)

    Nice job with the benching.

That 06 SM2.0 score is horrible with these cards. Oh well.

    PcCI2iminal,

the sm2.0 score is indeed very low are you sure the overclock was successfully applied? i.e. could you try a stock clocks 06 run for comparo?

    regards

Comparing to my X1950pro, HD2600XT it's a bit weaker in SM2.0 and a bit stronger in SM3.0. So judging by this it should be somewhat faster in F@H compared to my card (when new F@H client will be available of course ).

Can you post high resolution PCB shots? Maybe I will be able to figure out volt mods for it.

Pretty strong performance for a midrange card, looks like that watercooling loop is doing a very good job as well.

the midrange for 2007 has been very bad....from nvidia and ati, nvidia still has stronger gaming performance but both companys had a poor showing this year for dx10.

Sorry I can't read most of the letters on IC's. Besides I would need shoots of both sides of card, global and detailed areas to look for VR. Just for starters, can you spot VT1165MF or RT9232(A) IC's on your PCB? If not then AMD is using new power regulation circuity for this card. I'm also sure volts can be adjusted via BIOS in same way as it is done by x1950XT(X) cards.

Yeah drop W1zzard an email asking if his next beta of atiTool will have software voltage for the new cards.

It may take a new bios to overcome atis built in regulation cielings. But doubt it, on water I bet these cards will do 1100mhz core with more volts.

I bought brand new x1900gt for 160$ year ago, and i can get 13k in 3dmark05 with singlecore Athlon. Little disappointing, but maybe new drivers and new version of Ati Tool could bring it to 15k mark.

Seems like regardless of cooling , nobody has gotten above 863 core. Check reviews, every site that tried to OC hit 863 core and no higher. Needs better software tools or BIOS update, or both. I just hope this is the case, and not another x1900gt rev2 / x1950 pro overclocking fiasco with crappy digital VRMs hampering OC potential.
