    AMD Radeon Memory ???

Just saw this one AMD website
    http://www.amd.com/us/products/techn...on-memory.aspx
    AMD Radeon Memory

2GB DDR3-1333 ........isn't that a tad slow to pair with APU

P.S. : The local dealer have the memory in stock , for the sake as "AMD" fan , I bought a pair , the memory chip have been marked "AMD"
I have no clue what chip they based on , btw it's single side DDR3-1333 2GB

    Gaming Rig

    Oh dear. 1333 CL9 and 1600 CL11 @ 1.5v +- .075v

Those timings make me want to destroy things.

    OMG....absolutely abysmal memory.
As quoted by LowRun......"So, we are one week past AMD's worst case scenario for BD's availability but they don't feel like communicating about the delay, I suppose AMD must be removed from the reliable sources list for AMD's products launch dates"

DDR2 1066 CL5 is like 1600 CL7 as far as decency for the time period.

    1600 CL11 is not.

If AMD interested on promote the Radeon memory
I hope they should at least make use of AMD OverDrive "Black Edition Memory Profile" function
with "Performance" series ( DDR3-1600 Default SPD CL11-11-11 but B.E.M.P. should have tighter timing as "option" )

How about a high res shot of IC's, maybe they are just being really really conservative.

    As you requested
They have "remarked" the chip as "AMD"

Thats why it is JEDEC speeds and timings.

Also, are those Elpida chips maybe?

Ewwwwwww, you really don't want to be pairing that stuff with an APU.

AMD want to enter memory market segment though. Wish they release more powerful and compatible APU memory later.

    I have a pair , IMHO it's just regular DDR3-1333 , I can't get it stable at DDR3-1600 (w/ CL11-11-11 ... doesn't work , memtest Fail after 5% )
My Transcend DDR3-1333 4GB (Hyrix chipset) perform better than the AMD pair
at least the 4GB pair run fine with DDR3-1600 CL9

    Not stable at 1600 11-11-11?

That's got to be the worst ram I've ever seen. That's worse than not being able to stabilize DDR2 at 800 5-5-5

The chips look like Elpida OEM chips, and the PCB is the JEDEC reference PCB.

And you can't even get your kit stable at 800MHz CL11? Wow.

PCB looks like JEDEC reference, Kingston was (is?) using it too.

Yes, you're right. After looking through some of the pics I've collected a blue version of this PCB is used for Elpida and Hynix memory as well, not only Kingston value RAM.

    Edited my first post.

I have no clue , maybe my Crosshair V doesn't really match up ( I can't get decent memory clock with my PSC based GEIL EVO Two , weird BIOS)
The funny part is, even my Transcend 4GB DDR3-1333 (Hyrix) perform better

I may try the ram again on other board, maybe try again with F1A75-V PRO with APU

    990 chipset?
    isnt crosshairv an 890?

just saying you may have a good point there.

    what I dug up
AMD partnered with virage logic in 2010 just before synopsis bought them.
AMD was using embedded memory designs for their chips, likely the APU faire.

    http://www.synopsys.com/Solutions/In...s/default.aspx

    looks like synopsis bought virage

so heres my take. AMD gets synopsis to design a memory with the consideration of APU through put.
take some DDR3 adust a few things here and there and slap a brand on it becuase at some level AMD had to make design proposals and changes. They didnt have to reinvent the wheel they just went to a wheel maker with some design modifications.
either that or its quimonda Its very hard to find tsmc memory partners.

    http://www.bing.com/search?q=tsmc%20...B&PC=BB07&QS=n

    http://www.simmtester.com/page/news/...deal&num=12621
qualcomm partners with GF for memory at smaller nodes.

    http://www.globalfoundries.com/design/memory_ip.aspx

    virage in both camps.

They wont go out of house for APU specific memory, its not efficient.
But the integration of virage embedded, and in house ram makers explains the initial offering.
They want entry level stability hence its freaking cheap ram.
we could see a later evolution thats more tweakable, so,,,, the silent debut.
