    you know how i do...920 D0 + EVGA Classified = sub 7 min 32M + 100% OC

i'll let the other guys shoot the moon on BCLK, i am just interested in one thing and one thing only...those of you that know me know what i am talking about.

    here is the setup:
    • Intel i7 920 D0 - 3845B026
    • MMouse Rev3 CU pot w/LN2
    • EVGA X58 3X SLI Classified - Stock cooling
    • Corsair Dominator-GT 3x2GB PC3-1866 7-8-7
    • ATI Mach64 PCI
    • Corsair HX1000W
    • 3 x Ultra Kaze 2000RPM

start with the updates then the old stuff...mmm, 5.3GHz 32M 920

it is just too bad my 975 wasn't as good as this multiplier challenged 920.
first off is my max validation, but like i said, it wasn't my main concern. i simply wanted 250BCLK and pretty much quit when i got it.

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=557386

then i toyed with a little 1M action...

and finally had a couple cracks at 32M. i was checking for max clocks and not pushing memory so there is still room for improvement but after only just cracking 7 mins with my 965 not to long ago, crushing that time with a 920 was quite fun.

then my time was up and i had to head back to the hospital again for another shot in the chest. the good news there is that i should be healthy again in a few days...no thanks to you Chris, although it turns out you weren't completely to blame

sure feels badass with the NB at -40C though

    updated CPU-Z @ 5320MHz - 253BCLK...100% overclock if i am not mistaken

and a quick update on 32M as well with one higher BCLK. played with voltages for 10 minutes and got 1 more BCLK consistently stable for CPU-Z, 1M, and 32M.

haha, best part is the HWBot points

another update with 06 at almost 5.2GHz...

10K looks like it is 5 miles away at this point, but i did get the GTX 295 running with high CPU clocks and squeezed a pinch more out of the CPU. i had a 5200MHz + run down to deep freeze when i got a reboot 3/4 of the way through

either way, this is the best 06 i've managed so far...

    now nap time...

Classified + D0 are kicking asses just like you with 32M. Expecting some serious tweaking next time

Wow, sub 7min on a 920. Definitely sets a new bar for the competition. I'd like to see this with some of the gskill perfect storm kits that hiwa showed. What tweaks you using?

thanks buddy, more left from this setup in memory timings but i can hopefully squeeze out another BCLK or two with some fine voltage adjustments.

yup, forgot to put that in, just added it now. temps were only -55C ~ -60C for this run though. any colder didn't help as it is BCLK limited. i can bench at -90C with this chip and boot as cold as -125C before i get cold boot issues.

tweaks aren't a good term, makes it sound like pushing buttons. i run a well tuned and prepped OS with all the basic processes to improve SPi, nothing fancy. i've posted my processes too many times to repeat but the information is out there.

come on George, you know you can't ask a blanket question like that, it all depends on the CPU

the 965 C0 i have right now hates BCLK. 206~209 is all it will do on air on any board. under cold that goes up to about 225~230ish. it is the only chip aside from this 920 that i have used since getting the Classified.

this little bastard is prime stable at 215BCLK on air in the Rampage Gene without trying. I haven't had it on the Classified on air yet, this session last night was the first time they met. it is my first D0 so i have nothing to compare it too, and i didn't have this board since the last time i had a decent BCLK'ing C0. so really, i don't have a whole lot of info.

and thanks, already on the road to recovery

i forgot i had it that high. on air, this CPU won't run with anything over 1.45v...nothing higher will POST or run after changing in Windows. it was one of the things i wanted to check to see how cold affected it, turns out it can handle VTT at sub-zero temps. i guess i forgot to lower it when i started running.

sorry, didn't think you were actually asking a question since the screen shot covers it, but yes, running at 1.5v. the voltages in the screens might not need to be set as high as they are either, i didn't really play around due to time restriction. normally i run this board with both IOH and CPU PLL at 1.5v. never found a benefit over that on air. i was messing with these during my short BCLK hunting but plenty of work to go i think.

thanks Pedro, these Classifieds sure are nice. it will just be interesting to see what some other boards do with these chips, or if the Classified really is the king.
