**[OFFICIAL]** Asrock Z77 OC Formula Overclocking / troubleshooting/ Discussion

    Hey guys!

It is finally here, the Asrock Z77 OC Formula. A board purely made with overclockers in mind with the help of the great Nick Shih.

Take a look at the launch video while i do my tests and unboxing ^^

For now here is the latest bios and tools (i will update this on every new release)

    BIOS:

BIOS L1.425A improved 2933 ratio , fixed memory clock reading error when loading user profile

    Formula Drive:

Formula drive update to 0.2.12 (Fix some bugs and no more white color after OS theme)

    Rapid OC:

    Rapid OC to v1.0.15.1

    Timing Configurator

    Timing Configurator 1.0.10

    Download

    Download tools pack
    Tools 1011

If you have any questions about this board or just want to chat about it feel free to go wild in this thread. Nick shih and myself will answer all questions as best we can.

Here i did a 2995mhz validation on air cooling and Samsung IC based memory:

Some videos and pics of the board:

    Unboxing:

    Bios:

This motheboard seems to be avesome for overclocking.
The maximum cpu voltage it's 1.9v? Could it be done 2.0volts with a new bios?
I've seen some validation on hwboot by mad222 with 1.948v via hardmod.
And nick submission were with 1.9v.
To really go forward( a golden chip is of course it's needed) 2.0v is needed - i mean Gigabyte Z77X -UP7 has validation with 1.987v cpu vcore.

Also i hope that the working with memory has improved.
I mean many P67/Z68 Asrock motherboards did lower frecuency memory sau for example with some memory you can do 2133 CL 6-9-6 on some regular Asus motheboard but on Asrock you can do 8-9-8 with a higher voltage .
I'm not sure if Z77 motheboard improved to much this chapter.

What i mean, i hope Z77 Oc Formula works with memory comparable with Asus Maximus Gene V.
And also i hope this motheboards works good with Elpida chips( BBSE specialy or Hypers).

Old Asrock motheboards had almost none compatibility with Elpida memory(even using IB, i know SB had some issue with Elpida).

that hardmod by Mad222 is some kind of joke for remarking his name on the mobo

It doesn't has any special bios for this mobo . U will have 2.1 vcore and all of special tweaks in official bios

Memory overclocking ability is also awesome , we will see . It can do what your memory can do

board loves samsung, trying some psc right now and bbse probably tomorrow

if you are on z77 you know that hyper is dead for this platform, bbse/psc/samsung/hynix (bleh) is where its at

Thank's for info Nick, i thought that mad222 did some mode, i didn't know what it's the max cpu voltage on motheboard(there aren't yet reviews).
So i know now that probably you cpu didn't scale above 1.9v .
I want to buy this motheboard 2-3 weeks from now( It's not even appeared in my country yet, probably in 1-2 weekes from now).
Splave, Hyper is dead(although i saw some nice results on old Maximus IV 2200CL7 - it just for fun).
But BBSE it must work. I saw here some 2400 CL 9-9-9-24.

I have some PSC, Mach Extreme , they can do 2200 CL 9-10-9( i think on a good motheboard they could do 2200 9-9-9) being on -P67 not sure how much they scale above.

Also Nick , Asorck have any new boards to release in future?
I mean a Z77M OC Formula at 190-200$ to fight with Maximus V Gene i think it will be very nice.

Although i think they expect to see how much this motheboard it's selling.

actually CPU is scaling to 2 volt ... but i think that if anyone push to 2volt then u will say goodbye to ur chip soon

Asrock will have OC serious product line for sure in the future . Of course u will see Z87 OC formula next year

Good to know. I hope that dual bios will be implemented in almost all motheboards next year. Was something lacking from Asrock motheboards. This board have dual bios but for example Z77 Professional at same price from what i know it don't have(although it's a good motheboard for overclocking too).

Only think not looking good on this motheboard is the molex adoptor for PCIE slots power.
A 6pin power connector would have been just perfect(an more powerful).

I think it will be more easily to choose which product line by Asrock for pure overlocking in the future.

molex is enough for 3way benching . also 6pin peg connector has compatibility issue by some power supplies which have bad 12v output design .

55 post code when in dual channel = uneven socket pressure, HSF screws too tight etc. got that a couple times till I loosen up my TRUE

once I figured out which way the memory went into the board psc seems to have worked too, I was trying to fit it in the pci-e slots woops.

PSC with nice tight subs 4 tRRD and 6 tWCL for your butt

Nice, i hope my PSC are good too for 2600.
But why you have only 2 cores active? Better efficiency in 32M?

Ooh nice one splaves! I did a 32m too at 4.2 but i am about 20 seconds off from you, i think i forgot to disable some important things in the bios ^^.

    I'll be back tomorrow!

Also managed 2990mhz on samsung memory. But wrong cpu-z version lol. I'll be more focussed tomorrow.

Nice, 2566 CL8.... ( what memory if you can tell me).
2800 is doable with PSC with higher latency?

In P55 days the best of PSC could do 3000Mhz CL 8-11.

May be some of these memory will be still the absolute memory for Ivy Bridge, not Samsung/ Hynix.

Good to see C8 with 2600 divider. Anyone tested 2666 divider with PSC too?

I just receive some kits from Avexir . 2133 C9 4GBx4 overclocking potential is good
    Load XMP & selected 2600 . 1.65v hyperpi32m x8 passed .

    Will try their 2400 2666 2800 soon.
