    no boot after IHS removal

After removing the IHS from my cpu i can´t boot with 2 stickd of ram. After

searching the surface of the cpu I found a little scratch (see pic) on the

upper left corner. What do you think of this ? Is there a solution ?

I know one guy who covered the scratch he made with fingernail polish and it worked. Also make sure your heatsink is making contact or not too tight.

i chipped a corner of the die off a duron 800 and it worked for many months after.

You'll be unlucky if that kills that chip...

    GL with getting it sorted.

try the nail polish trick... It also has symptoms of 'too much pressure on the core'. Make sure it has good contact, but don't use clamp-style coolers.

so you say it worked with 2GB before you removed the IHS? Doesn't seem to make sense..
