Please do, I wait with baited breath. Got my C2Q sitting on my desk beside me and I can't decide on the mobo. DFI have never done me wrong so far, so i'd like to stay with them for my 775 build.

Maybe also ask oskar if he has any ideas about a release date oh and also ask if a possible BIOS fix would help the quad fsb any, or is it a hardware limitation?

Depends which CPU you own and which mutli you use to be honest, E6600 means unless I want to run 3.5 (which I dont as it can do more) then I'm not going to be seeing 500 with a 9 multi unless the chip is very very special so the 10th anniversarys I have will do up to DDR1000 very easily and at good timings too.

Got to admit, with the amount of CPU's and chipsets for the intel platform, does make chosing a board hard.

If it ain't watercooled, I don't wanna know.

I don't want to set over 2.35v in bios on this board because its voltage seems unstable. It overvolts both the cpu & ram sometimes. alhough the vdroop on this board is the worse I've seen @ load.

Here is easy to compare with your abit pi speed. I use 2.25V for DDR2 1200 CL5. OS: Win2003 server.

    Ok my earlier comparison with EVGA @ 800 3-3-3 1t, DFI was 24s faster at 32m http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...&postcount=162

Now at 1200 5-5-5 DFI still is way faster. 21s faster. This board keeps lookin better and better.
Could somebody post some 965/975 screenies with these exact settings? or as close as possible? Thanks!

Andre, I sure wish you had some 8800's to test 3d with. Oh well, maybe next time.
I'm tired of playin Pi. We should atleast get a ventrillo Super Pi server goin. Maybe get an X-Fire Plugin.... I wanna be on CT side

Sorry about 3D. I already sold my 8800GTX SLI cards. I think it would have more power user to test 3D next week.

it's a shame quad cores are not clocking very high in fsb........it's too late to make any corrections now as people are already receiving P35 boards to test
i guess for SLI people that want to clock non QX CPUs high they will probably have better luck with evga for now

Evga just released a BIOS for their 680i board (p27) and it looks to remove FSB walls for Quad Cores.

After reading more about the Evga, I hope DFI can deliver the goods with this board. Evga seems to have numerous problems (RAM being killed, noisey caps, etc). My current DFI NF4 SLI-DR Expert board has been the best motherboard I've have ever used. It has never caused a problem (save nvidia's ethernet port...what a JOKE that is!) and I hope to continue with DFI's reliability.

I hope DFI finds the secret about quad core oc.. I think DFI can also clock higher.. should also clock higher.. if not.. mm.. its a shame.. EVGA that is a graphic card manufacturer can beat DFI..

My impression is this depends on needs

    SLI vs Crossfire...

    Nvidia chipset vs intel based

DFI 680i Quad core fsb is somewhat limited now...maybe not in the future

965-s..looks good and is based on the 965 chipset so not as fast as the 975 chipset mobo

Does price factor in it for you?

After asking people on Hardforum about their evga 680i A1's, and having almost everyone say they have noisey caps, i'm not about to take the chance until EVGA comes out with a statement saying they fixed it.

I didnt' buy a $350 cooling system so a motherboard can ruin how quiet my system is. Sure, my motherboard MIGHT not have the issue, but its a good chance that it will happen.

Noticed 6-phase High Speed "Digital" CPU VRM and only 4 PCI-Express lanes for third slot. And x16 are only first slots, so CF/SLI setup need shorter bridges than reference 680i. Nice voltage ranges in BIOS setup. But I don't like that HSF. I think it will run really hot with watercooling\phasecooling on CPU. 680i LT NB physically is the same as 680i SLI, so no heat reduce for now Andre, am I right with heat levels?
And good to see GTL regulations, no need of soldering mobos :-D

Me too! I like the extra USB ports / dual ethernet and other little accessories of the Lanparty but I think the Infinity can hold its own and would probably prefer the raid performance .... any raid tests??? using the different SB.
