is there a way to stop copper fins from corroding?
i7 3610QM 1.2-3.2GHz
I don't think it'll corrode that easily, tarnish sure but that can easily be removed using various methods.

I hope it doesnt have the same mounting system as the basic TRUE. 2kg weight for that POS mounting is way too much.

the cooling performance is not going to be any better but it looks cool. thats most likely why its limited edition.
I still don't have tracking info yet
isn't it a limited edition run of 1000?

thanks for the heads up OP!
I couldn't resist picking one up, even with all the weight.
it might be the perfect excuse for buying a bench table to run it horizontal

http://en.expreview.com/2008/10/29/t...html#more-1181 slightly better than the original true.
Not enough to justify the price.

yea. everyone had to know that tho. theres a reason why there haven't been pure copper heatsinks alrdy. its because aluminum fins alrdy work fine. im guessing the only reason why they released it was for the bling factor. but because it weighs so much it could only work for a bench system.
heck 4*c better under load aint bad seen ppl do crazy things for 2
def is pricy tho
with an aircond ducted to it bet it would kick butt

It seems that 100% copper designs may have a temperature advantage, but at that price and weight it's so unpractical you may as well put your own liquid cooling loop.
I do like the black color looks pretty sick but for 100 some bucks just isnt worth it. Ill keep my tuniq it does the job fine

I think you got a little confused with the picture of the 3 versions. The black true is not as expensive as the new copper version, its costs about 65-70 US.

ha ha ha look at it this way. You might not even need to pressure mount this thing when mounted horizontally(like my case) due to it's weight.

There have been pure copper heatsinks, Thermalright use to make them from 2003 on till they started making the aluminum ones in 2005 or so, and they still make the XP-90c. I still have my original all copper Thermalright hs for my old 1ghz t-bird its small as hell but heavy and it was made to run a 60mm fan, a delta for that matter, it did like 60,000 rpm I had to tie my computer down bacause it would try to fly away lol.....and it was loud as hell
