Well there it is, I'm 100% convinced.

Looks like just like with ATI vs Nvidia I was right... AMD is coming back!

And the best part? i7 is good too, options people!

Odd how when the news is positive for AMD SOOOO many "certain" users don't show up at all. What's up guys? Why no posty?

Sounds great... My only question, was the chip tested an actual retail sample or some kind of super binned/handpicked ES?

I'm hoping this is true but I think it's abit strange how this leaked out. When amd had the A64 they didn't leak like this and they knew they had a killer on their hands. So why would they do this now? And from -20 to -185c? I did read I think some links/posts from jumpingjack about the shrink going to lower coldbug possibly but I'm feeling this is to much.. I'm hoping it's not though, AMD does have my brand preference I'm not afraid to say that, and I wouldn't mind going that route with a next build if their cheaper and offer good performance.

I want more info though, I don't like the teasing ect, it's mostly marketing bs and it get's us all hyped up. And the timing btw, isn't this to soon for them to do this? A full month? Time enough to let the enthousiams cool down waiting for the final numbers, or maybe they plan on 'leaking' some more info along the way

I'm not subzero but this and Tony's confirmation makes me REALLY excited now. I want one, bad! From the looks of it I should get more performance and better overclock than my q6600. Awesomeness.

Different CEO perhaps? The old CEO before Hector was a quiet sort. Hector just plain sucked. Dirk Meyer is an engineer and I think he's had some very positive influence on things.

There are reports that some ATi people are to be "blamed" () for this kind of shift in marketing and product strategy. It seems it's working,so kudos to them

Now guys lets remember we have not seen facts and figures yet... but the clock speeds are true, Macci was in full control and I am sure there is more to come.

I just think its great as a consumer we have what looks to be some awesome competition now...we need both players in the game to keep pricing what we can afford after all

These are pics of what? Running at what speed? Please numbers and confirmation, not a picture of a 790FX mobo with a dice pot on it

And under the dice pot is what,a Yorkfield "screwdrivered"/"hammered" in a AM2+ board?

Seriously, this event actually DID happen. No matter how unbelievable it looks like, chips were running at those clocks, temps were low as reported on air cooled systems etc.
What is left to be seen however is how retail ones will clock. All indications are they will clock the same or even better than this(since this is still not retail stepping).

Bring it on AMD! I'm not particularly thrilled about the Yorkfield prices now, they need to be lowered

I don't doubt you one bit, but were you personally there?

Must have been pretty awesome, witnessing the rise of AMD from the ashes of 65nm.

We don't need them, if you had been in this stuff long enough you would know that coming from Macci there isn't the slightest doubt that this is all true, as everyone that has a clue will tell you.
