    aquatuning trademark grab ?

    Found this on the [H]
"Aquatuning of Germany which sells many products is registering the trademark names of its many of its distributors! Such as Bitspower, Danger Den, Koolance, Swiftech, Thermochill, XSPC, and possibly others."

No.... Their registering the trademarked names of the products that they're selling and going after their competitors for using the names on their site.

It would be like me moving PTS to Germany, registering the "Swiftech" name in Germany, and pursuing legal action against any other store in Germany using the name "Swiftech" on their site.

The article is also pointing out the business link between Aquatuning and Alphacool.... perhaps insinuating that this is some sort of play to completely control the availability of products which compete with those of Alphacool within Germany. (a bit of a stretch, though)

That is some serious scumbaggery. But in the end the rightful trademark and copyright owners will prevail, it will just cost them a lot of money in litigation costs and attorneys fees. I guess douchebags will be douchebags, is all I can say.

It might just be me but I just don't see any way how this is going to work out well for them.. Especially if they are sending cease and desist orders to other resllers.

At least the Thermaltake name is safe. That means water-cooling will not die.

i agree, until Aquatuning/Aquacool comes up with a formal statement saying it has some type of Bitspower Co. i will not be purchasing their products, nor even consider them.

has anyone heard of any relationships between BP and Aquatuning/Aquacool?

While I agree that we as Customers should make them burn in hell for doing crap like that by not buying anything from them anymore, there is a major problem, it is the only online shop in all of europe that has a decent selection of parts.

At least in the uk we have various alternatives, but having to buy everything separately and pay for shipping from each shop due to no shop having everything kills it.
The next shop that has everything would be performance pcs as they ship worldwide, but seriously, do you want to wait several weeks for stuff to arrive and pay 50$+ for shipping? there are limits to how far people would go to do the "right thing".

If you're looking for parts in EU, I'd suggest www.highflow.nl or wcuk.
They have quite a big selection.

Aquatuning really needs to burn in hell...

i am in canada man, ppc's charges me up the yin yang for shipping too, plus duties when it arrives.

it sucks, but you gotta stay strong...

i wonder if you contacted ppc's about the situation if they would cut euro customers a deal...would be alot of customers turned thier direction.

Asfar as shipping times are concerned here in canada i notice that when i order stuff from overseas (europe or asia) it usually arrives alot faster than stuff from the US, i think it is just due to less of a volume from those markets, so it gets through the brokerages faster.

Not my experience. I find that PPC is very reasonable with their rates. If you want fast delievry with tracking and insurance, you have to pay for it. That isn't their fault. They offer much cheaper rates than many others.

PPC's is pretty decent with their rates, and as long as you choose USPS Express and the order's not a huge one, 90% of the time you won't have to pay customs fees. There isn't much they can do though - they're as much at the mercy of the postal system as anyone is.
