Talking Evga X58 SLi meets my core i7 920.. BCLK 233/ 4900mhz achieved (so far)

heyaa fellas i've been struggling with my Evga x58 sli board for some quite time and seems like im finally starting to see what makes this board clock little better.
so with out further due here is the stuff that was used on this first "real session" with my evga board achieved

    Evga x58 Sli board
    Gskill 2000mhz tri ddr3 kit
    core i7 920 patch #3841A347
    WD raptor 150gig
2 stage cascade ( build by piotres)

i have a feeling i can do little bit better than just that.. fingers crossed

and superPi 32M.. and yeah you guys dont have to tell me that super pi needs some serious tweaking but regardless its my personal best so far and im sure that putting the ram to 8-8-8-20 is still very doable. cl 7 sadly gives me an arror around 870mhz

So you say you were initially having trouble, what was the secret to your success?

well i think the main secret is the bios and after i started playing more with the ioh-vcore and ioh/ich/io voltages i was able to go past 230 base clock with ease..

    Hi Mikko!

Can you try high BCLK and Vantage CPU test? No need for high MHZ.. I just like to see how it goes.

(I did 221BCLK on air with RIIE today)
You are as good as your samples are!

Nice too see what i can reah with this board And also really nice BCLK I think for first time some of these chips don't like it cold (LN)..... But what for a temperature you'd at CPU?

well from what i tested this board with vantage last weekend and the best i was able to get out of it (so far) was 223.5 but i didnt play with the ioh-vcore and ioh/ich/io voltage at all on those runs so i dont know maybe now i can go little further i guess i have to test it later when i've concluded these 2d tests

yep some chips at first were really cold buggy i guess i got lucky when i decided to buy one from ebay ( i could refuse the awesome deal) im guessing your also asking what sort of temps i was running this cpu ? i tortured it with my 2 stage cascade thats tuned for quads and high loads.. even when all the cores are stressed the temp probe on the evaporator does not go under -100c

thanks guys this board is fairly good but for instance superpi performance could be better, in 3d this board rocks and im guessing people involved with designing this board had that in mind, anyways my next goal is to get to top 5 in superpi 32m at hwbot+ maybe run pcmark 05

    Gr8 job, man!

Have to sort out some instability issues with my EVGA, OCZ ram and this sucking i7 here... my Mach2GT is suffering from weakness with this 920 over 4GHz and 1.37V. Me <- jealous on you and your cascade.

Nice CPU an mobo you have Congratulation on the results

What tweaks do you use, when I see Dinoss score at 4650 with spi 32m, it was better than yours http://hwbot.org/signature.img?iid=174075&thumb=false ... So I aspect that you can push little more spi 32m, but with some tweaks skills

thanks mate heh i bet that mach 2 is screaming ontop of your core i7 stove.. btw this patch can do 4.6ghz (ht off) on watercooling on 1.4v

well i think my super pi32m is not so good compared to the other guys in hw bot cos of the ram latencys and pure ram speed + im sure they are using some kind of windows tweaks that in not aware of.. lol i have to admit that im still kinda green on the super pi tweaking department so if any one of you gurus reading this thread, it would be much appreciated if you could shed some light on this super pi 32m tweaking
