Lightbulb The happiness hat forces you to smile

Some funny (weird / wrong / insert_your_definition_here) (or not, if you work at McDonalds or similar place) news!
Source:
Quote:

If the Happiness Hat, created by interactive artist and designer Lauren McCarthy, senses that you aren't smiling, it shoves a metal spike into your head until you do. A ruthless device to help you train your way to what McCarthy calls "Improved Social-Interacting." She demonstrates in the video below:
http://vimeo.com/7283341
I'm not sure that shoving a metal spike into my head is the best way to lift up my mood. I suggest the designer to take a full advantage of this thing and look really happy 24/7/365 till she realises the idea might be a bit flawed!

Hah, her picture is more a forced grimace than a smile... This is quite funny.

Jokes aside... why? what could possibly make someone try and create this crap?

interactive artist
they never tell you about jobs like that in high school
the 'artists' that make stuff like this, a single pen streak on a piece of paper, and literally a piece of crap in a cube just make you wonder why some people do NOT have jobs...

That first pic is freaking hilarious. That's not a smile! That's the look you see two seconds before the serial killer plunges his knife into you...

Well it should work, it's just an example of negative reinforcement and unless your resentment towards the person who had made you wear the thing was overriding, given time you would be conditioned to smile more.

There is only 2 ways you can know what that look looks like, and the fact that you are posting here, suggests you are on the knife end of that smile...
