Patriot Memory sent out two kits of the new Viper Elite II product line. At first glance we can see there is no RGB and a strong color scheme of red and black.
I will be using memtest86 and AIDA64 for testing as these modules will go into a 3D scanning workstation where memory density is needed and I will start with 64GB kit first.
My motherboard is the Asus STRIX Z590-i and has memtest86 in bios error testing as well as a "flexkey" option in bios to quickly recover back to bios.
These 64GB kit have two XMP profiles, profile 1 sets just the primary timings and profile 2 sets some secondary timings as shown, both profiles are 20-26-26-46 CL2.
At stock speed they pull just over 50K in AIDA64, not bad but not great. Middle of the road good performance at safe settings.
Looking at the CPUZ, we see the memory identifies as Spectec, so it is made by Micron.
After a few hours of tuning I was able to bring the AIDA64 score up from 50K to just shy of 54K, while this is less than 10% improvement I will use it and save the profile.
Conclusion:
These kits competitively priced for while delivering good performance for high density dual rank kits. I do not expect to see these putting up competitive numbers for used specifically for overclocking.
