    4-Way + 3DMark 11, lots of photos

Finally, my NV curse is over

I was trying 4-Way on Sunday but nothing was working, then my Quattro 1200W blew up so I had to RMA it. This time decided to use 2x HCP 1200W instead of combo HCP + Quattro and got only few litres of LN2 left

    Platform:

    i7 990X ES - thx Intel Polska @ F1 EE
Rampage III Black Edition - thx Asus Polska
ROG Xpander - thx Asus Polska
4x Asus GTX 580 DirectCU II, CBB mod, OCP mod, OCP per phase mod @ duniek slimpots
    2x Antec HCP 1200W - thx Antec
2x2 GB Goodram PRO 2000 CL7 - thx Wilk Elektronik
Goodram PRO 64 GB SSD - thx Wilk Elektronik
    EVGA Frostbite - thx EVGA

    some photos:

    The result:

3th place on HWBOT not too shabby I think

    http://hwbot.org/submission/2190943_...80_23308_marks

    Processor temp. - 110*C

    GPU scaling:

    1100 MHz GPU @ 1.25v / 1100 MHz Mem @ -55*C
    1150 MHz GPU @ 1.30v / 1100 MHz Mem @ - 85*C

I couldn't achieve 1200 GPU stable but I think I can do it next time have to do vmem mods and have much more LN2

    Stay tuned!

that is awesome ,so in the near future the vga's that come with this nerby performance must be like a 4 x gtx 580...hard work to engineers!

Thx my friend I understand your frustration about Xpander. I also HATE IT. I begged for 3 months polish department of Asus to organise Xpander, finally they got 2 pieces, one failed :/ and it's the only one. They have no warranty so I have to treat it like na egg. I always am afraid it would break and then I couldn't push 4-way on Asus motherboard. If we could buy it like other staff it would be ok, but it's only "limited edition for our special overclockers/departments of Asus worldwide"...

I just complain because I can sometimes. I'm getting close to running my first 4-way setup, but it's 5870s so it doesn't even need the Xpander!

Didn't mean to distract the thread... this is some sweet benching. Makes it even harder for me to wait until I get to bench next!

So, what do you think of that new EVGA thermal paste?

Thx mate, but I think without more mods I won't be able to push more in 4-Way. 2x GPU does 1350 MHz GPU, others: ~ 1250 GPU in single. I think I have to replace those worse!

Thx, yes it's hard. After today, 5 hours of 4-way benching (only one result lol ) I am really tired!

    THX

About EVGA Frostbite - it's the way to go! My CPU is very sensitive cause it's has CB but does great MHz but temp. must be almost rockstable and is very sensitive for thermal grease:

    For instance, tested some:
Ceramique -> CB on my CPU - 160*C, 6.3 GHz without HT with 4.5GHz+ Uncore
Noctua -> don't remember correctly, but it was nothing special
no name silver grease -> CB -149*C 6.5 Ghz without HT with 4.5 GHz+ Uncore but sucked in HT testing
Thermalright Chill 2 -> CB -135*C, 6.32 GHZ with HT with 4.5 GHz+ Uncore BUT I could bench it only for 20 minutes cause after that time my CB moved to -149*C so I could forget about benching with HT cause it wasn't stable (6.1 GHz max)
Thermalright Chill3-> CB -149*C, nothing special
EVGA FrostBite -> CB -129*C, very good for HT testing, especially with high load like CPU tests in Vantage, my CPU does always with it 5.95 GHz (like on new screen with new score), it's rock stable at -125*C. It doesn't loose it's performance, after 5 hours everything is OK. And what is more important, I didn't unmount pot after last benching on Thursday and still it works the same. For comparison on other pastes my CPU does 5.92 GHz with 3ghz uncore... or 5.7-5.8 GHz with normal uncore. So for me Frostbite is my choice

    Ok, so UPDATE

I benched for 5 hours to obtain one score. I am not too happy with it, my target is ~ 73K+. After using vaseline (thx PURE!) I had less problems and could bench for hours.

    Platform:

    i7 990X ES - thx Intel Polska @ F1 EE
Rampage III Black Edition - thx Asus Polska
ROG Xpander - thx Asus Polska
4x Asus GTX 580 DirectCU II, CBB mod, OCP mod, OCP per phase mod @ duniek slimpots
    2x Antec HCP 1200W - thx Antec
2x2 GB Goodram PRO 2000 CL7 - thx Wilk Elektronik
Goodram PRO 64 GB SSD - thx Wilk Elektronik
    EVGA Frostbite - thx EVGA

    The result:

    http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3339543

    http://hwbot.org/submission/2192124_...calculate=true

according to bot it's 6th result, not bad but as I said I want MORE.

Processor temp. - 125*C during CPU tests, GT -100*C~-120*C, -129*C CB

    GPU scaling:

    1100 MHz GPU @ 1.36v / 1100 MHz Mem @ -70*C

Vantage needs more voltage on GPU's much more. This run was made with 5.95 ghz during whole vantage and I think it's my bottleneck. Tried more CPU power but one slot froze so I will try score better during night (got 30 litres left). And tomorrow again 90 litres I think I can do 6.2 - 6.3 GHz through GPU tests so it should raise my score a lot. Maybe more CPU power in CPU tests, but 5.95 GHz through vantage CPU tests is rock stable always and don't want to risk after today's struggle.

    Stay tuned!

    Whoa... well done again!

I prefer liquid electrical tape. It works just as well as vaseline (if not better) and just peels off when you're done.
