No problem assembling the Prometeia, the space around the socket is enought
Here is the first mem test with the FSB at only 171Mhz, used 2 Corsair XMS3500 at maximumg timmings 8-)
Seems promissing

Very nice indeed.
Hmmm I haven't followed the new INTEL technics, but is this the Intel DUAL channel DDR? Dual Channel with Intel @ 226Mhz gets like 4100mb/s?
If that is sow....it is VERY promissing!!!

Yep, this is Intel's dual channel Granite Bay offering...and the memory is only at 171MHz since there is no mem divider on these boards.Originally posted by NoStra

Nice results so far, Pedro. I am especially curious as to whether this board is stable at 180+ FSB, as my 1.6A should easily be stable at these speeds with some decent cooling. BTW, how does the P4G8X compare with the IT7 in 3DMark?
Predro, Do me a favor.
Run sandra CPU test and post the PR rating. It should be over 8K with HT enabled.
My Tyan board failed to show higher PR.

I’m little disappointed with the 3DMark scores, only got about 19.900 3Dmarks
Above 170FSB (3.900Mhz) 3DMark crashes, I suspect the cause is the 12v line that drops really hard.
I have to dismount my Antec PSU to try to fix this.
Here is an MBM5 on my 24/7 speed
Anyway, for now, I think the Abit IT7 still is the nº 1 board for 3Dmark
But this Asus P4G8X is the most stable board that I ever see at very high speeds
After all 12.117 MIPS for everyday use it is not bad at all :p
Can you run UT2k3 bench just for kicks ?
Ever stop to think, and forget to start again?
4 Giga stable now
With the same Prometeia CPU temperatures are higger (-21ºc idle, -6ºc load) than the IT7-2 (-24ºc idle, -12ºc load), maybe the Asus temperature sensor is more accurate
OK, now is time to start some real benches
Dammit will i ever get my asus board i ordered a month ago?? Im moving to portugal!!!
Dont even ask where i've been!!!
Wow...impressive, Pedro.
What do you have your vid card clocked to ta hit 19900?
Very weird .. Portugal is usualy the last place to get some nice productsOriginally posted by Tedinde

nice system bro.

Very nice scores Pedro.
How does the board compare against the Max2 v2.0? Same FSB but memory at 3:4 for the v2.0
I'd really like to know if you would gain that much with the DCDDR vs the PE chipset.(3dmark, games etc....)

very very impressive.
I was going to skip this board but might have to have a look at it. The thing that keeps me from getting it is a) the lack of availability in here and 2) the price.....almost $500AUD
See how it goes.
Im in awe pedro :p

Compared to my Max2 v.1, with same FSB (171) gives much more better menory scores in Sandra or SuperPI...BUT ..
3D Mark scores are lower (can't pass 19.800 with the ATI @ 400-350)
But for everyday use seems much more faster and specially rock stable with 2x512 Sticks at 170FSB
With the Max2 v.1 was impossible to run stable with 2 sticks above 158FSB.
I still need to fix the 12v to try to run 3dmark at 175FSB ...
very nice Pedro!
Probably the first 4GHz Portuguese!
The 3DMark scores seems to be a little disapointing, and that's why i skipped the P4G8X when i had the oportunity to get one...
Has for the temperatures, yes, the Asus are more acurated, that's why i always tought your temperatures where to low to be true. (i remember to tried it when i had the P4T533-C and TH7-2)
Tedline, don't do that, you'll regreat, believe in me, but if you want to spend some vacations, then you're welcome!

Hmm, that IS wierd. I recently played around with a 1.8 in an 8IHXP 850E board and a BE7-RAID, with a stock-speed 9700 Pro (all other hardware/software the same):Originally posted by Pedro Rocha

850E/133x4/2400 PC1066 - 14757
845PE/133@3:4/2400 DDR354 - 14077
Being that GB/DCDDR is basically equal to 850E/PC1066, you'd think the GB would score higher.
I mean, I maxed out the 8IHXP at 156x4:
850E/156x4/2808 PC1248 - 15947
...and I had to run the 845PE up to 3GHz to catch it:
845PE/167@3:4/3006 DDR444 - 16093
Then again, your video card may now be your bottleneck.
I noticed 3DMark wouldn't increase proportionally:
845PE/133@3:4/2400 DDR354 - 14077
845PE/150@3:4/2700 DDR400 - 15288
845PE/167@3:4/3000 DDR444 - 16093
...the first 17MHz FSB bump/300MHz clockspeed bump gained me 1211 points. The next 17MHz bump/300MHz clockspeed bump only gained me 805 points.
I'm guessing once you start passing 3.5-3.6GHz, your video card becomes a serious bottleneck...either that, or something in 3DMark.
