    Got my 2400+ XP-M 35W today

Today I finally got my 2400+ Mobile chip. It is a AXMD2400FJQ4C, a 1.35v chip.

This is what the chip looks like:

It is a green chip, and they are usually good overclockers..?

Anyway, it is a IQZFA "Y" TPMW. Everyone else I know have got a AQYHA, but unfortuently I got a *QZ** chip as usual But it is a "Y" chip and it is a TMPW which also is quite good, so I give it a try.

The overclocking ability of this chip isnt "great", but it is not bad either. If I have had this chip a half yer ago I would be very happy, but now when "everyone" has a chip that does 2.5Ghz @ 1.75v it isn't too good.

    How "good" is it then?

    Currently I am running the chip @ 2.37Ghz (215x11) @ 1.775v = 3600+.
This speed seams to be prime95 stabel.

I need better cooling to go higher. Volcano 7+ isn't very good...

Well, you should not be sad about that chips.. It looks good, nearly 2.4GHz at only 1.775v.. Not bad at all

But it isn't very funny to get a *QZ** chip again. Especially when everyone else got IQYFA, AQYFA, AQYHA and such steppings.

But it is still better then all old "super" AQXEA "Y" chips.

I got three of these today, one of them is for myself. Can't test yet, waiting for a mobo.

    Y911893A4XXXX IQYFA 0345 SPMW

Greenie... well, I saw another guy with the same stepping, but higher batchno, it did 2,4@1,65v and 2,67 or so @1,95v stable, watercooled.

Yeah, the good ol´AQXEA times, actually I have that stepping, and it is dooing all right.. But sure, I would like a mobile.

Becuase I am interested in running one of these chips using air cooling (another project) and because it might also help oozberg...

    1) what is the best air cooler (money no object) for AXPs?

    2) what is the best "Bang-For-Buck" air cooler for AXPs?

Hehe, ok, so that's the best HSF, what about something around half that price? Are you likely to get anywhere with something like the ALX800?

ALX-800 is without a doubt the best bang-for-buck heatsink. Jab-tech has them for $12.99 + around $4 for shipping. Case-mod has them for only $10 + $3.75, but of course they sold out like a day later.

Ok, the chip with the highest batchnumber (95) does 2,5@1,65v and 2,7@1,89v air cooled (had the Delta at max speed for 2,7 though) in nornal room temperature.

Now I'm testing #2 with batchnumber 81, the first failed Prime@2540 with 1,65v, so I started this one right up there, so far so good!

I wonder how the last one with batchnumer 0011 is

Oh, this is without burn-in. I hear these mobiles tend to like that.

It locks like you got the same Cpu as me,mine do 2500 1,65V but at 2700 it needs to stay above 1,85V.

Well, I hope they will do better with higher voltage after burn-in.

    Priming at 2568@1,65v now.

    You have such good luck.

My chip needs 1.93v to be "windows stable" @ 12.5x200=2500Mhz I don't like this chip, and it doesn't like me either. I am going to sell it, and i have already found a buyer

I will buy another one later, I hope will get a better steppin next time.

At least one of the chips (batchno. 0011) are stable at 2600@1,66v. That chip doesn't like high vcore at all though.

    wow....

my IQYHA 2600 45watt likes 250mhz @ 1.65v... but i have a horribly unstable vcore so my OC is very limited.

i went from the crappiest axp stock hsf (only like 25 fins, aliminium, u get the picture) to a Tt Extreme Volcano 12 and fan speed on full i lose like 12-15c idle... its all copper heatsink with like 66 fins, the fan is 32mm thick, 80x80 in width... and mine does 5850rpm on full speed... its definately a good buy.
