    I have the same psu as you mentioned "SPL" and "LazyTech".

    I was running some low rails until I did a vmod to it. Now it runs these readings...I used a meter to check them and not the bios as it can be off by quite a bit:

    3.3v = 3.65
    5v = 5.6
    12v = 12.75v

    You will have to look at the ATX connector and then the wires that are Orange (3.3), Red (5V), and Yellow (12v). There will be a thick wire and a thin wire. The thin wire is the "sense" wire for the psu, this is one you add a resistor to.

    Just grab a 10k-20k VR from your local radio shack. Snip the sense wire and solder the VR to it. The VR should have 3 legs. Use an outer leg and the middle leg, but do NOT use the 2 outter legs. Solder the screw side of the VR pointing at the psu, then solder the middle leg of the VR to the wire thats running to the ATX connector.

    I recommend this:

    But not this:

    The big pots can get in the way with this type of mod. I used a series for my mod, but a single VR will work nicely. I would cut the end leg (end with no screw) off so that it doesnt get used by accident.

    This is a simple vmod to do.

    I like my women the way I like my processors...naked.
    I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.

    Will this work on any PSU that has the thin sensing wire? Thanks, nice mod!

    Dale it SHOULD work with any PSU that actually uses the sense lines to regulate the rails. On some cheap PSU IMO the sense lines are not used. Also on some PSU's the 3.3v rail is actually taken from the 5v rail, so adjusting the 5v rail with this mod would probably adjust the 3.3v as well.

    The TP550 uses seperate regulation for the 3.3v, 5v, and the 12v rails so it should work well with this psu. I'm going to do this mod to my TP550 in the next couple of days and I'll post the results.

    Thanks Major,
    I have to check my power supplies to see which ones have them...aside from my TC550 on which all are adjustable...it may allow adjustment on the TTGI rails that lack pots and I think I have an Antec TP 430 with no pots at all that has lagging rails.

    Any PSU that actually uses the 3.3 sense wire should work with this mod. I've used 10k pots. I've modded Enhance, Enermax and some no-name POS PSU to work with this.

    You start with 0 (zero) ohms and slowly increase the resistance 'til you get your desired volts. Multi-turn cermet (ceramic-metallic) potentiometers are best - they allow for both fine-tuning and since they increase the voltage slowly they guard against blowing boards and/or PSU's.

    I'm using a antec 550 true control right now and tried a 10k vr and it did nothing and same with my PC power and cooling 400w. I know I have the right wire its the small one thats next to the 3.3v at the atx plug but some how I get no change at all.

    PCP&C supplies may be using different circuitry on the 3.3 sense than lesser supplies. Have you checked with the PCP&C staff as to how to tweak your unit? BTW, wish I had one, nice!

    sjohnson,

    I finally broke down and ordered a 510 PCPCooling PSU.....tracking says it will be here tomorrow. I wish I had bought nothing but these from the start as anything less is really a waste of money in the long run. Ahhh....hindsight...sigh

    Actually the PC power and cooling 400w model has very low lines and tryed to talk to PCPAC about that and they said there's no adjustment for that model so that kinda sucks.

    The 510 is a lot different than the 425. I talked to a tech there named Larry for 45 minutes. He was very helpful and convinced me to go with the 510.

    Same as everyone else, I was trying another way just using a 10k vr in line with the vsence line and it no worky. So I tryed a 10ohm resister and a 1k vr and it works perfect. Goes up to 3.60v for the 3.3 line but I think thats alittle silly,lol.

    I got the regular 510....pots are internal...I don't expect to need to adjust them, but I'm comfortable doing so if need be. BTW You can drill 3 holes in the PSU case of the regular 510 and adjust pots with a screw driver.
