just wondering if i can just use a fixed resistor to change the lowest voltage available from 2.5 to 2.7, that way my limit on voltage is 3.0 volts.

Kunaak I'm sure it can, its an easy mod. My P4C800 died yesturday so if you give me a a few minutes I'll go pull the resistor off the board and see what value I had it set to.

Ok with my vr set to 9.29k I had a +.3v offset over bios the bios settings so that 2.85v = 3.15v. IMO a 10K fixed resistor would yeild somewhere in the 3v-3.1v range when the bios is set to 2.85v, this should be a safe value.

were you using a fixed or variable resistor?
I just want a fixed one, I am not too concerned about having low voltages, just the high ones.
I was using a variable resistor, I adjusted it while on the mb to get a .3v offset over whatever value was set in bios. I just measured it and it was set to 9.29k. So if you want to use a fixed value resistor a 10k would be a safe bet to get 3v when the bios is set to 2.85.

I am just looking for a small .2 offset for 3 volts, nothing drastic, just nice clean simple voltages, and clean mindless mods.
I don't really run things to be conservative, so 2.7 day in and day out sounds fine to me.
so this can be done?
I can't wait to see what these canterwoods can do.
with a .3v offeset you voltage options are as follows:
2.55=2.85
2.65=2.95
2.75=3.05
2.85=3.15
I would think with a 10k fixed you whould just be at 3.0v tops. I'm going to look around to see if I can find a post where someone used a fixed resistor and try to find out what there results where
