It's time to do business...
After a trip to wc with entry level kits (eg Tt) i've decided to build up something serious...
Let me begin with my case which is a Tt Kandalf. I'm thinking of using a triple external radiator on top of the case.
The parts i'm interested in are:
Pump: The contenders are
a) Laing D5 with Danger Den Dual 5.25 reservoir.
b) Laing DDC Ultra with water tank
c) Third choice AquaXtreme 50Z with Danger Den Dual 5.25 reservoir.
I'm leaning towards the sheer power of the D5. However i'm a bit concerned adout its noise. Can u give me your input? If it's too loud and i'll run it @ number 4 setting, how does it compare to DDC Ultra regarding noise/performance? One more thing that bothers me is that DDC Ultra comes with 1/4 threads, isn't that a bit restrictive for the pump? Before u start proposing me to use a T-Line let me inform u that i would prefer a reservoir instead.
Radiator: As for the radiator there are two possibilities. The first one is to go for a normal triple radiator with 3 Thermaltake A2018 fans, push or pull. Here we have two options:
a) Alphacool NexXxoS Pro III
b) Black Ice Pro III
The second option and the one i'm leaning to, is to go with an extreme triple rad with 6 fans running @ 1700 rpm (the above mentioned) push/pull config. Here the contenders are:
a) Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme III
b) Black Ice Xtreme III
c) The beast. Thermochill PA 120.3. I know of course that PA is the better one but i would like to know if it'll give me lower temps with my setup to justify its higher price.
Bear in mind that with any radiator setup i'll go with theese stands.
Waterblock:. The options here are:
a) AquaXtreme MP-05 Pro Limited Edition
b) AquaXtreme MP-05 SP Limited Edition
c) Least favourable. Danger Den TDX
Tubes:. Here we have.
a) Dander Den 1/2 ID UV green
b) Tygoon 7/16 ID or 1/2 ID
What do u guys think? I'm tempted from the lower diameter of the 7/16 Tygoon i would have liked it to be UV though...
U may ask by now where is VGA wc? Due to my relatively "tight" budget i won't go for it now and leave it for the future (not that long though ).
That pretty much covers it all.
Sorry for the long post guys but after several attempts with wc kits, i wan't this time to do it right...

I can't tell you anything about the noise of a D5, but a DDC+ gives you decent performance and is really silent.
If you have a tight budget, I'd go for the MP-05 SP, BI Pro and maybe Masterkleer tubing? Tygon is really pricy.
What you definitely should not get is the Nexxxos rad and the TDX block. Both really aren't great performers.

Get the PRO LE over the SP LE, they are the same block and perform the same except the SP has the brass top and is more expensive. The D5 should be fine with the triple rad... it is a pretty quiet pump from the ones I've tried. My 50z was louder than expected.

Like a sound file? Well, that could be hard to do. Both pumps are really quiet. If I turn on my PC and have all fans turned off, I can merely hear it.

I heard those files in review and there was old DDC which is known to be dead silent,
I wonder if there's any difference in noise (timbre ) between 10W (old) and 18W (Plus).

The DDC+ is a little louder. But you can only hear it when the pump is outside the case.
I can hear neither of them when using a plex top, water additive and a thin layer of neoprene to kill vibration.

Have u tried Nexxxos rads and don't like them? A for the tube i'll go with the tygoon cause i want to order from certain European stores (due to high shipping costs for us orders) and this place has it in a quite decent price.

PA 120.3 seems like my favourable option till now. The way i see it i'm going to buy it once and enjoy it for a long time. However will u suggest a 6 fan push/pull config or 3 fans push or pull?
DDC Ultra is indeed a very nice, compact pump with great head (i know how important this is) but can it really surpass D5's double flow rate?

3 fans. wont get much lower temps with 6. pa series is made for low cfm.about push\pull, just do whatever fits you best!
edit: and would recomend the yate loon d12-sl12!
a modified ddc ultra would perform as good as if not better than a d5

Well, I had all the Nexxxos here. Really, don't get them. In Germany they're not even half the price as Black Ice and maybe 1/3 of a Thermochill, still I wouldn't want one for my rig.
Tygon is some very good stuff, but expensive I got my stuff from the UK, should be the same shipping to Greece I guess (EU).
You can get the Yates at ebay, really nice price tag

Yes they are!
Now it makes the pump choice even harder...
DDC Ultra or the new Laing D5 Vario?

Yes you could with 5 intervals too. Their only diff is that the new one pumps 1500L/H (the "old" one had 1200L/H)!
