Everyone take this Photoshop test and post your times!
Using Photoshop CS or CS2 (or PS 7)
============================== ====================
1.) Download the test image from http://www.quicklance.com/test.jpg
2.) Save it to the computer and then open it up in Photoshop
3.) From there please apply a 'radial blur' with the settings at:
Amount = 100
Blur Method = Spin
Quality = Best
Using a stop watch / ps timer see how long it takes to apply this filter
I just want to see what these new cpu's can really do.
Please list your cpu details, amount of ram and the time it took for the test, just so we can get an idea of how the different cpu's handle this task.
* test adapted from a different forum *
My results are 46 sec completly stock with the system in my sig

4400+ @ 250x11 (2750)
2x1GB @ 250MHz 3-4-3-1 1T (tight secondary timings, fwiw)
32.58 seconds
EDIT: IIRC, there's a benchmark put out there by DriverHeaven that tests A LOT of different filters....I recommend trying that as a benchmark to get a better idea which system would be best when OC'd (or I can tell you--955XE will win in the end, LOL).
EDIT2: ummm, anybody observe what that looks liek AFTER the effect?
EDIT3: new score coming up....realized my memory was still in the 1:2 divider from a few days ago.....LOL

New time....264x11 (2900MHz) for my 4400+ gave me just over 27sec.
Everything else is the same as before, except now my memory is also up to speed
(and I OC'd it)

Depends on your Photoshop settings....120MB allotted should be way more than sufficient with this image and filter set (only having one filter helps).
Default allocation is 55% of total RAM.
