X1800 temp issues

Basically, I took the stock HSF off my XL to check the core [A14] and RAM [BC14?]

I used AS5 when putting it back on, left the pads for the RAM. I checked the contact [screwed in the GPU bracket then removed] and contact was fine [spread the AS5 with a knife cuz there's no wiggle room & no IHS].

Just checked ATI Tool Beta 11, temps are 73c idle? WTF. CCC won't show me temps at all.

I never really looked at the temps before as everything was stable & fine. Please tell me that ATI Tool sucks at temp reading.

thanks

oh, and what GDDR3 do i have?

Samsung 531
K4J55323QG BC14

EDIT::
just found it on the Samsung site, 1.4ns, 700mhz SCORE!

Connect3D, I think i got the last one before Newegg went out of stock

I bet that you mounted the HSF bad, real bad, i'm under 60degrees all the time(full include obviusly) with my XL and a VF700, i mean fully OC'ed and all... I assume that you are using stock HSF yet, did you plug the fan conector ? I hope that, but is easy to forget that... I don't know about beta 11 but beta 10 shows good temps... I mean nothing unusual... I hope i could help you...

59c idle

with the rthdr test load temps are staying at 64c :p [stock freq]

I've got to try out that 1.4ns ram though, 675 [1350] was the top speed before at 2.05v / 2v. It's rated at 700 [1400] 1.9v / 1.9v though so... [anyone know if those speeds are with Overclocker timings or ATI Tool timings?]

to get the RAM speeds up? I've used 1.15 vGPU [by OC tool, ATI tool tells me that 1.15 is really 1.125 :\ ] that got me 580 on the core before

I've noticed that if u up the voltage on the GPU the u can get more out of ur ram. I get 650 on def volts on my mem. Can't get more unless i raise the volts on the GPU.
