Does this Microcool Chipsink Cooling kit really help stability or is there something

better?
Hi!
I wanted to know if its recommended to use this kit:
Microcool

If its recommended then I will need some help figuring out where to use the sinks on my DFI NF3.
Regards

These will do about the same, and cost alot cheaper.

just make sure you have good air flow through your case and you'll be fine.

Great find! Do you think they actually do something. Regarding airflow, I do have a tornado of airflow with high end fans like Delta 152cfm :-)

They do help, sometimes when you crank up the voltages those 3 pin mosfets do get hot, I've heard stories of the mosfet beside ZIFF socket melt into the mobo before, but I do find it hard to believe. Anyways, this used to be my mobo:

Awesome stuff guys thanks!
If I put a picture of my mobo, can you please circle where you recommend me to put the heat sinks?
Here is the picture link:

I also got those microcool heatsinks on all the mosfets in my setup.
And I think they help a lot.
When I used my watercool setup the mosfets got very (and I mean very) hot,
but now with the heatsinks and the big typhoon installed they are at a more toutchable temp
(heatsinks on the mosfets and little airflow can do wonders)

I think without the heatsinks and airflow the mosfets would have melted of my motherboard with that prescott i'm running now

i have the same mobo as you, and you will want to sink the mosfets to the left of the socket. they get extremely hot. ive measured them at over 70C with a thermal probe.

When the first generation P4 Prescotts came out, and folks were using them on the older generation Intel boards, well, as you can see, the mosfets supplying the socket got pretty hot.

In fact, if you look closely, pretty all new generation motherboards come with heatsinks on the socket power mosfets.

I've gotten good use from the thermalright nb-1, every now and then they go on sale for $10.
