Post My new FX-55 Week 45 has arrived!

Well it turned up this morning, just in time for the holidays!...

It's a week 45 and I'm sure the stepping is different... Could someone explain the difference in the code on the chip between an E and a C?

My old chip was a week 41 E, code:

ADAFX55DEI5AS
CAA2C 0441EPMW
1124162J40229

My new one is a week 45 C, code:

ADAFX55DEI5AS
CAA2C 0445CPMW
1138372K40164

Well touch wood it's a good overclocker, guess it's luck of the draw, I'll whack it in tonight and see what it does... All I want to hit is 250 x 12 !

Cinders.

That's just a part of the stepping - it doesn't have any specific meaning. Let 'er rip!

Whats the stepping mean?... (doh!..) - Does it mean the chip has been revised or does it relate to where it has come from in the silcon wafer?..

Doesn't really mean anything. Sort of like a serial number. Internally it may mean the series, or the wafer, or time.. In this case, you can make no prediction about overclockability IMO

For the 4-letter codes:
First letter represents the day of week manufactured.
- R for first day of week
- S for second day of week
...
- X for last day of week
- M for combined lots.
Second letter is for assembly location.
Third letter is for wafer lot sequence of the day, A - Z, with M for combined lots.
Fourth letter, nothing or W which designates combining wafer lots is prohibited.
