USB 3.0 finally tested

Great review and testing mia. I too was anxious to see some real world performance numbers for USB3 and while the performance doesn't seem to be as strong as I was hoping for, it still shows promise that with some further refinements to drivers and potential chipset interfaces that USB3 should mature well. As you said, hopefully more manufacturers will make an effort to supply this technology to the consumer sooner than later.

Looks like allot of work went into the testing!!!
usb3.0 can't get here fast enough, ext 2tb drive plus usb2.0 is like getting waterboarded!!!!

i think it would be unfair to judge the usb 3.0 spec according to running it on a p55 board. this board was not designed for it. when there is an actual chipset that it is not hacked onto, you will see great results.

That's what the "Turbo" results represent, they bypass the P55 chipset completely, and interface directly with the CPU via the PCIe bus
Having said that, I do think this technology will continue to mature and improve over then next year or two, this is still the "beta" IMHO
