Nvidia is renaming parts once again. Now the 200 series is the 300 series, just like we told you months ago. Nvidia has no new parts and no chance of coming up with any soon, so all it can do is unethically try to snow consumers.
If you recall, the roadmaps we showed you in August had the G210 magically becoming the G310 with the addition of DDR3. If you look at this HP page (originally found at Beyond 3D), you can see that there is a G310, but it doesn't appear to have DDR3 yet. This card has literally nothing new. It is a complete joke, and an underperforming joke at that. I wonder if there is a problem with the memory controller, or just HP being cheap?
In any case, it just validates the roadmaps we were shown, and says that Nvidia has no new products and will not have any for a long time. Instead of making chips, it is renaming parts in the hope that consumers will be dumb enough to not notice they are being taken advantage of.
That said, there is a new GPU on the market, a few weeks after the last launch of the last name for the card. It is 100 better than the older 210 and 15 better than the top of the line GTX295, although it lacks a TX, that might account for something. Go buy 12. When you don't have parts, spin. Nvidia is spinning so hard it is amazing it hasn't puked by now.
Yes, we were having some fun at the other nvidia thread.

Why the fuss? This is a really profitable business model.
because at the end of the day its the customers which allow the company to have the said rip off buisness model.
they should start developing products instead of rebranding.
ford may aswell just rebrand the model t as the model ts and never develop another car again
the issue is that Nvidia always is Conservative..., AMD learned Everything from Intel.replacing technology is very important.amd went quick from 55 to 40 as for intel from 45 to 32.but nvidia is there what can nvidia do for avoiding loss money?
Though they [nvidia] aren't doing anything illegal, intel fanboys said similar things about their illegal payouts, it made it even sweeter when the EU swung the ban hammer. Hopefully there might be some comeuppance for Nvidia, even if it is just eventually being eclipsed by Intel and AMD in all of their market segments.

Man it takes big balls to do something like that. Too bad the average Joe Blow will fall for it, hook, line and sinker.
Unfortunately, so will the not so average Joe Blow by virtue of the fact that many will choose to ignore the past if nv ever comes to market with a competitive product. I doubt many, if any, will bat an eye at this kind of deception and snap up new products without any consequences to nv. So there'll be absolutely no incentive to stop this kind of action in the future and, nv's deceptiveness will be justified. Much like intel's P4 era, where they bribed and coherced(well, you know the rest) and when they finally had a product to market that could compete, there was no consequence. People turned a blind eye, intel continued on it's merry way and many pretended nothing ever happened (thanks in part to some unscrupulous viral marketing).
If people in the know lack any kind of backbone, how in the world can anyone expect regular Joe Blow consumers to have any clue what's going on, much less do anything about it. But you are right, IT IS too bad.

Might as well buy nVidia stock if you aren't going to change your business habits. Everybody decrying these practices is still buying the cards and carrying them in their stores.
It's Nvidia renaming its products again. What's so special about that? They've done this several times before so it must be proven strategy to get more money.
Again... and again...
What a nice start for GT3xx series. Start with rebrand. At least the other series started with something a litle new and later massive rebranding.
