Razer Imperator
* Ergonomic right-handed design
* Adjustable side buttons
* 5600dpi Razer Precision 3.5G laser sensor
* Razer Synapse on-board memory
* Up to 200 inches per second/ 50g acceleration
* Seven independently programmable Hyperesponse buttons
* 1000Hz Ultrapolling / 1ms response rate
* On-the-fly sensitivity adjustment
* Zero-acoustic Ultraslick Teflon feet
* Approximate size: 123(L) x 71(W) x 42(H)
Price: US $79.99; Europe €69.99
Well I for one prefer perfectly symmetrical mice but this doesn't look that bad. I don't know about the "customizable" side buttons though, I think they could be flimsy...

I agree. I'm glad they keep pushing things forwards but they do have a lot of mice now. Logitech has kept things quite simple and it has done well for them. The reason I use Razer mice though is they are generally symmetrical and being a lefty, they are the only option as far as high end mice go.
I still laugh how Microsoft turned to them when they used to be with Logitech in the day ( eg all the MS gear was Logitech made and rebranded )
As far as the side buttons though, I've only ever used the one close to the thumb on my mouse hand (so the front right button ) as the others have always felt awkward. I have a Diamondback, Copperhead and Lachesis and they are all the same where that is concerned. The shape of their mice since the Lachesis is a little better for using the buttons however.
EDIT : The weight system is nice for a mouse with the full palm design but Razer mice have always been "finger" mice so they wouldn't benifit the same way. I used to use a heavier palm held mouse but I am used to Razers lighter designs after using them for a good 5 years now.

hmm my habu died and i am trying this CM sentinel thing. this looks like it could be a winner. the habu had 2 types of buttons that you could interchange and it was generally easy or my monkey hand to work... i was also thinking of the naga, but i think ithas too many small buttons for most gaming. it would be nice if they made a hybrid naga and habu,

reminds me alot of the gigabyte M8000 i had. it was great for quick sensitivity changes, and the buttons could handle macros better than any Razor mouse ive had sofar. and one thing i dont like about my copperhead is how windows dosnt recognize it when i boot up, unless i take it out and plug it back in. im sad my M8000 broke, this might be an ok replacement if it comes with red LEDs

Seems a more bubbly design than the Mamba/Deathadder, some people didn't like the flatness of those. I've had my mamba for 6 months and a Habu for 2 years, I absolutely adore both and the Mamba is the apogee of mice in every regard that concerns me. Was worth every penny of the $110 i spent for it. Logitech are getting more and more retarded as time goes on, waiting for those morons to rebrand a MX Revocraption with its atrocious 16ms lag and horrid shape as a gaming mouse.
If you guys like the shape of this mouse but want one allot cheaper, the ocz eclipse is a pretty awesome gaming mouse. Only problems are some clicky back/forward buttons but its dual laser sensor is excellent.

Not at all. There just isn't good return potential. It just isn't feesible as sales will be low. A few mice have came out in lefty versions ( I believe logitech had a G3 mouse lefty version ) but none I've touched yet impressed so far.

Razer mice have always been a favorite of mine, light fast and delicate I seem to break these without even knowing how it happened. Usually it's the left click or the cord becomes intermittent. They've always seemed sparse when it comes to additional buttons that you can actually use though. I currently use the Nova Slider X600, just about the perfect mouse paired with it's pad IMO. I'll never buy another Logitech as long as I live though, I took a baseball bat to the last one I owned similar to the copier scene in the movie "Office Space".

Razer's version of the MX518\G5, lol. Has a nearly identical form factor and button placement.
I'm sticking with my mx518 until it dies, which will probably be never. Such a tank of a mouse <3.

Finally Razer fixes the only issue I've had with the otherwise nice mice, the thumb grip, I couldn't use DA cuz of the sidebuttons was in the way where I'd wanna rest my thumb after becoming used to MX-518's nice thumb grip and being a low sens gamer it's important with a stable grip imo.
I might have to give this one a try after my current MX-518 dies. I've had 2 MX-518 that's gotten lose cable after a while now but it's very easy to fix, you reroute the cable inside the mouse a bit so it won't be able to put stress on where the cable is connected. It's a shame they changed the pads on the MX-518 to some very big ones tho, don't like the new version, I've got it but I rather fixed my old MX-518's as the new version doesn't feel as good.

The mamba is the one you'd want then... I thought about getting the mamba but the price is real steep. Worth it if the wireless works like they claim it does though.
My copperhead served me well, and now my deathadder has been great for a few years. Maybe this new Imperator is the new mouse for me!!! Crap maybe this will make me want to get back into competitive css!
