Question Water cooling, 3rd Attempt

Well ive been reading these forums for a while and drooling over various build from snipe dogg shazza and such and am going to attempt my 3rd water cooling setup (1st was thermaltake, second was secondhand swiftech/ek parts) Also bare in mind my current rig is an opteron 170 and is LOOONG in the tooth

Im due to get some serious cash shortly (depends on how long army admin takes to process it ) and ive tried to settle on the following for my replacement pc, everything must go from my current rig except my g7 mouse
Hopefully the army dont take too long, lest i change my mind with SATA3 and gulftown on the way.

dual intel 80gig g2 SSD (Striped)
Core i7 920
EVGA classified
6 gig Patriot Viper2 DDR 2000C8 (fastest available in NZ)
dual 1.5tb HD for media ( mirrored)
dual radeon 5870s
Dell 27inch monitor
Corsair 1000watt
Lian Li P80

My understanding is Cas makes more difference the clockspeed of ram now with I7? as the bandwidth is allready pretty up there being triple channel?
I dont expect to run the ram that high, just with lower timings (cas 6 1600-1700 maybe)

Im Looking at EK Full Coverage blocks for gpu and mobo, silver plated for the biocide (i can get it done for free) and possibly the new swiftech apogee xt.
or a heatkiller 3 (also Plated)

As for tubing, I like the look of Primochill ghost fittings, can 7/16 ID tubing be heated and stretched over the 1/2ID fittings?

I intend to buy a window for the case, and get the spare side worked into a shroud to hide 480mm rads externally, (so they dont stick out like dogs balls)
I want to run 2 loops, CPU and GPUs seperate, Which loop should the Northbridge go In, assuming 1 480mm rad per loop?
I also need recommendations on Pumps, Res, Rads and monitoring, I quite like the look of the Koolance RP 1000 sets, but they are expensive, any one got good or bad experiences with them to share? Also how much power can they pump into the 2 fan connectors,?
Im after Quiet so is the RX rads plus Gentle typhoons a good choice?
I cant order anything from Aquacomputers. they dont ship to new zealand, and Sidewinders is out of stock on most aquacomputers components, If I were to go Aquero for monitoring, How could i source their stuff? (imagine a silver plated copper res )

Im in New Zealand so shipping may cost up to 500US (specced up a set on performance pcs) I want to do it once, do it right lest the exchange rate change along with my taste in accessories, The US dollar is so rotten and devalued I have to buy soon or ill regret it for ever, as would my credit card.

Sounds good.

Two things:

The NB block should ideally go in the GPU loop so you keep any excess heat away from the CPU.

As for your RAM, you want to look at BOTH the CAS timings and the frequency. They are interrelated.

If you think about it, the CAS timings are measured in units of clocks. That's time it takes to go through one clock cycle is based upon the clock frequency: T = 1/f

You want to look for low CAS timings paired with high frequency.

If I remember correctly, 1600MHz RAM will have a clock speed of about 800MHz as it is double rate.

If your talking about the compression fittings I have to match fitting for tube size. If your talking about the barbs, your can fit 7/16 over 1/2". Some people run clampless doing that. I personally would at least use a ziptie.

2 480mm rads should be plenty for everything. You could even do 2 360mm and be fine if you find an issue fitting both.

The Koolance RP 1000's are not suppose to be bad as use a DDC3.2 pump. They have include the res and monitoring software, so there would be no need for another res.

For pumps, DDC and D5 pumps all perform about the same, the biggest difference is size. The DDCs are smaller. If you want to do a silver plated res, I would just get the pumps, and look into controlling software like this.

You really don't need the software though as you can setup overheat shutdowns in BIOs, fan controllers are cheap, but with 2 480s and 1450 RPM Gentle Typhoons, I doubt you would need fan controllers. You might want them for 1850s if you want silent as they are quiet, just not silent. You can also moniter temps with CPU-Z, real temp, and Everest, just to name a few.

At the fan speed range you are looking, Swiftech's MCR-x20-QPs, XSPC RX, TFC, and TC rads all perform within a few degrees of each other. Swiftech makes a nice 420 rad along with their 320 rads and a great price.

Looks like I might just go D5s on UN mounts in a drive bay. I saw this http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...product_id=740 which is what i need as ive had a my pump die once or twice, (loose wiring). Your right i dont really need the software, just like the look of the aquero, but thats money pinched that could get me a third SSD or videocard.

No one has really used the Primochill metal Ghost fittings? I might have to go with 1/2ID just to be on the safe side as i dont want to have to re order things and wait 2 weeks.

Is their someone at aqua computers i can talk to, to arrange a one of shipment to new zealand?

You referring to these:

They are barbs, so you can do the 7/16 if you want.
