Question Connecting close fittings - don't hate on my GIMP skillz!

My question is what would you all recommend for bridging the gap between the ports that are circled?

The plan is to use the mobo (EVGA x58 Classified), NB/SB/mosfet block (EVGA) and CPU block (XT) shown below. I could just use tubing, a couple fittings and just be done with it but I was thinking of being fancy and using a couple BP triple rotary angle fitting with a d-plug in between. However, I'm not sure if that's really the intended use of a d-plug or it would even fit.

And yes, the sticker on the memory slots makes the system go faster.

Thanks!

I'm trying to accomplish the same thing actually. Just received my D-Plug but I don't have a CPU yet so don't know if they will be the same height, the CPU and NB block that is. The distance between them is perfect for the 1 inch D-Plug at least.

Here is a pic before I got the D-Plug:

I was able to make that bend without kinking with two Banana 45-degree fittings and some Banana compressions, using 7/16" Pro LRT - but I'm using the EK-Supreme, which I believe has the ports a little further over towards the RAM slots. I think you'd still be fine, though.

Exactly what I'm trying to pull off. Except I believe the gap for my setup is a bit larger which might pose a problem. Take a shot of what you end up going with. Oh and mail me your damn XT. I have my i7 920 but I need the block.

I'm waiting for a W3520 to arrive but it's taking its sweet time. I might just pick up a 920 and test the setup. I'm a little afraid that the blocks won't be the same height though. If the gap is bigger you might have a problem as the 1 inch D-Plug is the biggest there is. Will take a pic as soon as I get something done.

Well there's always extenders. I could make my own pipe out of these.

Yea, if they height is off I'm screwed.

Yea, those extenders could be the solution for you. I am thinking that adding a second o-ring on the 90° on the NB might lift it up a little making it possible.

Here is a pic of it laying on the there, still no CPU under there though which might lift it up even more:

Damn that looks good. It will be at least a week before I can see what sort of gap I'm dealing with.

Really tempting to just skip the Xeon and get a 920 so I could have it instantly but have.. to.. resist..

Why are you holding out for the Xeon?

heh..

did this idea a while ago..

Dplugs are great.. however if your height is off, you will need to get it close.

You can use extenders, or the funky 90's from bits, because you can twist them sideways a bit to lower the height.

I went for an L instead of a straight path.

So Naekuh, looking at your pic it is possible to adjust the length of the D-Plugs?

And to D749, I'm hoping to get a better performing chip with getting a Xeon.

At what point does does a slightly flattened (from the severity of the bend) piece of 1/2" tubing not only cost less and offer fewer points of failure, but actually pose less restriction?

Never, if it isn't what you want.

yes... dplugs are variable in design.

Ok, good to know. I squeezed mine together really hard as I was afraid it might leak otherwise
