Swiftech Komodo for gtx285 & sli

Simple yet silly question:

Looking at my next "upgrade" for computer, and at a 3-sli setup with the swiftech gpu blocks, but their diagram isnt showing how the sli is connected for seperate loop. From what I can tell, it looks like they are just butting the 2 plugs against each other, and slapping a tube over them?, or am I missing something?

My other question would be this: can a single swiftech inline 355 put enough pressure / circulation on 3 of said card with no problems, or am I going to need a major pump upgrade? (I'm also switching up to an i7, but i know a 120x3 swiftech will cover that cooling with 6 fans doing push/pull :P ).

GPU blocks aren't very restrictive right now, and the DDCs have a lot of head, but 3 GPU blocks with something like an XT on the CPU may be pushing your luck a little.

Unless of course I misunderstood, and you're running separate loops, in which case no issue at all. Personally I wouldn't put 3x modern GPUs and an i7 on a single triple, but there you go. I'm not a big fan of multiple rads or multiple loops, but that's a lot of heat, bra.

i tried tripple sli and an i7 thats overclocked...its not fun with gpu's folding and the cpu crunching...with one quad rad...

but if you're into gaming..a quad rad is sufficient...other apps need better cooling...

I'm using 1 loop for cpu ( and maybe memory if i ever get that board ), and one for gpu.

A triple will serve for the GPUs then, though for 3x SLi I'd try to squeeze a 120x4 in there. And a single DDC+ should be ample, if you stay in the usual low-restriction stuff (swiftech, ek, etc).

I guess I should have quantified this a bit more haha..

There will be no 'squeezing' involved.. its a MM ascension extra long.... If I was feeling excessively silly, I could put 4 more 120x3's in the top, and at least 1 more on the back

Anyone know at what point you stop getting improvement in graphics using multiple videocards? I may just stick with 2 video cards that are high end and the i7 unless theres a major benefit from 3.

Anandtech.com did a pretty good article on 3 way GPU systems: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3518

The upshot is you get under a 50% increase in performance over 2 GPU setups and about 140% over single cards at the most- that's using SLI, Crossfire didn't scale as well under most of their tests. Also, unless you're using 2560x1600 resolution, or higher, it's pretty pointless, as all the games were handled well at lower resolutions by 2-way, and this was when the GTX285 was top of the heap. It would probably be worth it to check out the full article, even if it's a little dated at this point.
