Thermalright IFX-14 on an AMD Board

Hi Guys,

I'm selling my WC parts and will be moving back to air as I don't have the time for maintenance on my system.

Anyway since I'm moving back to Air I don't want to skimp out, so I want the best Air Cooler I can get.

I'm looking at the IFX-14 and I'm liking what I see, the thing is I have Dominator RAM and since they have tall heatsinks I'm not sure if the IFX-14 will intrude.

Does anyone know if there will be some clearance as I still want to run my RAM under dual channel.

Thanks

Don't get that marketink piece of . If you want the best air cooler get a Megahalem. Just keep in mind that you also need to buy a "Retention mount adapter kit for socket AM2/AM2+/AM3" to mount it. Megahalem + push fan shouldn't intrude, though you should measure before buying anything.

Well the dominators are about 2.3" in height I think. I guess I'll go for the megahalems then.

Megahalem will outperform IFX-14, go for it, it's a good idea.

Just checked. The height from the base to the heatsink is 1.5" so the RAM won't fit .

Don't really want to move my ram to single channel

Megahalem, Megashadow, TRUE, Thorīs Hammer (but needs bit of work..).. IFX-14 needs lapping and CPU lapping in order to work good.. yea and 3x 140mm fans to get something from that..

lapped true in push/pull seems to be the way to go. but its not an 'out of the box' setup

Yeah I'm looking for an 'out of the box' setup since I won't be doing no lapping what so ever.
I've just looked at some mounting pictures for the Megahalems and I'm sold, it won't disturb my memory at all ....Well I'm 60% sure, maybe the fan will cut it in.

But I'll be buying this once I've sold my Pump, Rad and CPU Block (hopefully within the next day) and that's it.

Hope it doesn't stand close to my 5850.

U wont have to run it single channel, just use the outer two slots and ure running dual channel with the megahalems installed.
