5870 Water Blocks

So of course the new ati radeon 5870 is out and companies have started making the gpu block for them. I was wondering if anyone had the results for the best block out for it yet?

What about checking the other first page threads first?

At the end of the day you will find that FC blocks all perform around the same. I would suggest one that cools the VRM's as well if you will be trying for a high overclock. Look at the EK, Swiftech and Koolance, those are currently out and cool the VRM's with water flow. BP will have one out soon as well as Aquacomputer, both will probably also have the water flowing over the VRM's.

DangerDen also has a block coming out for the 5870, but the water path looked like it was the smallest by far. I'm expecting it's going to be the worst performer of the bunch based solely on that fact, but can't say for certain that it won't compete until all of the blocks can be tested.

So far, just from my reading through the 12 page 5870 waterblock thread on the first page, it looks like Gabe's Swiftech full cover block has the best temps so far. Like norris said, I would make sure to focus on VRM cooling. This will mean the difference between a successful voltmod and being stuck at stock voltage.

Do not take what Gabe posted as being fact though, it's just what he has experienced so far, until we get more user reviews or a full blown review I wouldn't declare a winner just yet. I would still stick with Swiftech, EK or Koolance due to them actively cooling the VRM's. As I stated before, wait a few weeks and the BP and Aqua Computer will be available also.
