Home-Depot Day (HDD) HeHe

I have a 3 day weekend this week and I am going to tell my dad to pick me up some supplies for a home made DICE pot. I don't have any lathes or heavy machinery, so about all I will be doing it with is a soldier and a brazing torch. Just wondering what I should have my dad pick up?

I got a athlon 64x2 6000 so what kinda diameter copper tubing should be good? and the rest I already have.

looking to do this...

Just to give you a heads up I've been looking for copper tubing/pipe locally and haven't found anything. Home Depot here only carries upto 1" diameter

To be honest you are better off buying a Koolance CPU-LN2 if you plan on doing dry ice. It is very hard to match their performance with a homemade pot and their mounting kit is superb. I am all for building your own gear versus buying but with cheap pots it is very hard to get the same benching quality.

Id love to say go ahead and do it, because it almost seems like a necessity to have an unsuccesful run to learn your lesson.

But you are going to have a really poor time doing it, and are probably going to ruin a motherboard.
My first dice run was with a custom pot and i had tons of problems.

I would invest in a cheap duniek pot so that you can learn the ropes without ruining hardware.

So much negativity... it's entirely possible for beginners to home fab very good pots very cheap... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=230427

Their internal base is what i call so 2001
It's pretty easy and cheaper to produce a pot that wil perform better.
